Deery drivers travel to Quad City, Hamilton County for midweek shows

EAST MOLINE, Ill. – A return to Quad City Speedway and top billing at Hamilton County Speedway’s Thursday Night Thunder special are next up on the Deery Brothers Summer Series schedule. IMCA Late Model tour feature winners earn $3,000 on Wednesday, July 22 at East Moline, and on Thursday, July 23 at Webster City, Iowa. A minimum of $300 will be paid to start the main event each night. Pit gates open at 4 p.m., the draw closes at 6:30 p.m. and racing follows 6:55 p.m. hot laps at Quad City, where mod lites and street stocks complete the card. Reserved seating is $18; grandstand admission is $15 for adults, kids ages 6-12 are $8 and five and under are free. IMCA Hobby Stocks race for $1,000 to win Sunday at Raceway Park

JEFFERSON, S.D. – Motor Parts Central IMCA Hobby Stocks will race for $1,000 to win at the Jim Johnson Memorial this Sunday, July 19 at Raceway Park. Additional money has also been added for second through fifth place finishers in the draw/redraw event. The runner-up earns $200
, with $170 for third, $160 for fourth and 
$155 for fifth. In Johnson’s memory, Golden Auto Sales put up $100 to add to the Hobby Stock feature winner’s share of the purse and challenged anyone interested in donating money to the division. So far, Andy Gage, Bud Pash, Keith and Bill Miller, Craig Clift, Bonine Garage Doors and Dakotaland Auto Glass have contributed. Additional monies received will be added to payouts for second through fifth place finishers. Contributions can be dropped off at Golden Auto Sales, 1900 Floyd Boulevard in Sioux City, Iowa, or brought to the track on Sunday.

Crawford, Hansen, Sanger inducted into Independence Hall of Fame July 18 

INDEPENDENCE, Iowa – Iowa racing legends Gary Crawford, Curt Hansen and Ed Sanger will be inducted into the Independence Motor Speedway Hall of Fame this Saturday, July 18. The induction coincides with the 50th anniversary season of auto racing at Independence Motor Speedway, where horses first raced on the dirt track before stock cars roared into action on a half-century on Saturday nights. An autograph session will be held honoring the 2015 Hall of Fame inductees from 5-6 p.m. be­hind the Buchanan County Fairgrounds grandstands. Hot laps are at 6 p.m. with racing to follow. The three Late Model Stock Car Hall of Fame inductees will be honored during a break in racing action. Inductees will be permanently honored with a plaque on display at Independence Motor Speedway. Third annual IMCA Modified Stampede is Saturday at Dodge City 

By Lonnie Wheatley DODGE CITY, Kan. – Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds take center stage at Dodge City Raceway Park this Saturday night, July 18 with the third running of the track’s Modified Stampede. While the IMCA Modifieds will battle it out for a $1,200 winner’s share, other DCRP championship chase action will include IMCA SportMods, IMCA Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. Saturday’s action gets under way at 7:30 p.m. DCRP championship contenders will square off with a host of invading drivers for bragging rights and added money with the Stampede. David Murray Jr. topped the inaugural version of the event in 2013 with Brendon Gemmill taking the checkered flag last year. General admission is $15 with children 11 and under admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Dodge City Raceway Park is located on the south edge of Dodge City on US 283, then 0.9 mile west on US 56, then 0.1 mile south.

Hancock County Fair boasts potential $5K for IMCA Stock Car winner 

BRITT, Iowa – A check for as much as $5,000 goes home with the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature winner at the Hancock County Fair special on Friday, July 24. First place is worth a minimum of $4,000 with another $1,000 added if the first-place driver has perfect weekly attendance at Britt this season. The runner-up earns $2,000 with $1,000 for third. A minimum of $200 will be made to start the main event and tow money is $100. Twenty-four cars will qualify and the starting grid will be filled with two sponsor provisionals. All weekly divisions are on the program and a fireworks display follows the race program, which is sponsored by the Hancock County Fair, McNeese Tire and IWireless Communications. Dacotah Speedway hosts July 24, 25 Governor’s Cup special

MANDAN, N.D. – Three sanctioned divisions are on the race program for Dacotah Speedway’s 25th annual Gover­nor’s Cup special. Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds race for $1,600 to win at Mandan on Friday and Saturday, July 24-25. Their feature is a 2016 Fast Shafts All-Star Invita­tional ballot qualifier. Mach-1 Sport Compacts return to each evening’s pro­gram with a top prize of $200 at stake. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars are new to the Friday card, racing for $400 to win. KNOXVILLE, Iowa – After two-and-a-half inches of rain fell overnight and with more rain in the forecast throughout the morning hours, Knoxville Raceway officials have canceled tonight’s Harris Clash. Shryock scores first Hawkeye Dirt Tour win at Southern Iowa Speedway

By Jeremy Fox OSKALOOSA, Iowa (July 15) – Kelly Shryock continued the trend of new Hawkeye Dirt Tour winners Wednesday night at Southern Iowa Speedway. Not only was he the fifth winner in as many series events this season, it was Shryock’s first career win on the tour for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds. A qualifying event for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot, Shryock was already vote eligible. Fresh off his Kupper Chevrolet Dakota Classic Mod Tour championship, Ricky Thornton Jr. redrew the pole and took the early advantage in the 25-lapper. His time out front was short-lived as Shryock grabbed the lead away just prior to a lap three caution. Shryock continued to pave the way with Cayden Carter pursuing and Kyle Strickler making his way through the field. Strickler worked the low side past Carter with three laps to go, however he came up a couple car-lengths short of Shryock at the line. Carter ran third. Sunset Speedway Park hosts Dancin’ Bare Topless 100

By Ben Deatherage BANKS, Ore. – Another marquee event for Sunset Speedway Park is coming up as the Banks Bullring continues to have one big race after the other.  Saturday, July 18 will be the annual Dancin’ Bare Topless Modified 100 at the 1/4-mile clay oval. This race will feature Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds for a 100-lap feature with the winner collecting $1,000 and a berth on the ballot for the 2016 fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. All applicable points will be awarded for the topless event. Pit gates open at 2 p.m., the front gates open at 4 p.m. and racing starts at 6:30 p.m.

LaCrosse earns 100th IMCA Modified career win

By Dave Panske SEYMOUR, Wis. (July 12) – Benji LaCrosse captured his 100th career Budweiser IMCA Modified feature win on a history-making Sunday night at Seymour Speedway. The win was also the 37th for LaCrosse at Seymour, third on the all time win list behind Brian Mul­len with 60 and R.M. Van Pay with 54. Mullen and Van Pay are also members of the IMCA 100 win club as is Mike Wedelstadt, the Sunday runner-up to LaCrosse. Jerry Wilinski had the lead after the opening lap followed by Trevor Spaulding, Konnor Wilinski, Wedelstadt, T.J. Smith and Eric Scribner. LaCrosse entered the top five on lap three after starting 11th in the field.  LaCrosse could pick his line as he maneuvered through traffic and  finally took over the lead on lap 11.   Wedelstadt fol­lowed into second one lap later.
