$3,500 is top check when IMCA Hawkeye Dirt Tour travels to Hancock County for Salute to Veterans show

BRITT, Iowa (June 23) – The Hawkeye Dirt Tour returns to Britt and five IMCA divisions see on-track action at Hancock County Speedway’s Salute To Veterans special on Tuesday, June 28. Touring Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds race for $3,500 to win their Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier while the runner-up earns $1,600. Fourteen hundred dollars will be paid for third, $1,200 for fourth and $1,000 for fifth. Hancock County is the only track to have hosted an HDT event every year since the series started in 2010. Next Tuesday’s show will be the seventh tour event held at Britt. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars race for $2,000 to win, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks both for $1,500 and Mach-1 Sport Compacts for $200. Brayton Carter wins Lowry Memorial at Osky

By Jeremy Fox OSKALOOSA, Iowa (June 22) – Brayton Carter’s first KBOE Radio IMCA Northern SportMod win at Southern Iowa Speedway came during Wednesday’s Dave Lowry Memorial. Trent Brink led the first lap of the 16-lapper. Matthew Van Gelder took the top spot away following a lap two restart but that was short-lived as Carter grabbed the top spot on lap three. Carter cruised on to take the checkers ahead of Brett Lowry, Van Gelder, Curtis VanDerWal and Eric Flander. Cayden Carter won again in the Budweiser IMCA Stock Cars. Zack Vander Beek topped the Musco Lighting IMCA Modifieds, Dustin Griffiths paced the Pepsi Cola IMCA Hobby Stocks and Cody Van Dusen ruled the Mach-1 Sport Compacts.

Stien sprints to Arlington checkers

ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 18) – Michael Stien was the second and final leader in Saturday’s 95.7 the Rock IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature. Justin Allen was the early frontrunner until a yellow came out on lap five. On the restart, the seventh starting Stien got by for the lead. Allen stayed right on his tail throughout the race to take second and Jesse Cripe was third. A late caution gave Clint Hatlestad the chance he was waiting for as he passed Tyler Limoges on the last lap to win the MN 93 IMCA Modified main. Limoges was the runner-up while Tyler Mecl of Arizona took third from his 12th place start. Dan Mackenthun edged past Jeff McCollum on lap 11 to take the B & B Racing Chassis IMCA Stock Car lead with Ken Tietz alongside. In the end, Mackenthun won with Tietz taking second ahead of McCollum. Fast Friday coming up at Cottage Grove

By Ben Deatherage COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. – The second Fast Friday of the season is Friday, June 24 at Cottage Grove Speedway. General admission for fans ages 13 and up will be $5. Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds are on both Fast Friday and the Saturday, June 25 Loggers’ Cup cards. The IMCA Modifieds are coming off of a very busy schedule with the recent conclusion of the Wild West Shoot Out. Cottage Grove Speedway has already had 10 IMCA Modified events with an already impressive win list. Mark Wauge is still the driver with the most triumphs, at three, including one of the Wild West Modified Shoot Out races. Henry scores in SportMods at Sunset

By Ben Deatherage BANKS, Ore. (June 18) – John Henry hammered out a win in Saturday’s Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature at Sunset Speedway. Henry took the coveted front spot on the opening lap and led all 20 laps. It was Henry’s second win of the year, making him the first repeat winner of the 2016 campaign. Michael Melton was second and Archie Somers was third.

$100,000 up for grabs for United Rebel Sprint Series during “Month of Money”

DODGE CITY, Kan. – Through the month of July and the first week of August, the IMCA RaceSaver United Rebel Sprint Series will compete for an estimated $100,000 in total purse money during a 13-race stretch that begins July 1 in Dodge City, Kan., and ends Aug 6 at the famed Belleville High Banks in Belleville, Kan. This will be the largest combined payout for the “Month of Money” in the 11-year history of the URSS. This will also be the start of the 13-race URSS national championship battle, all of which pay a minimum $1,000 to win and $200 to start. Victory for Van Ooyen Sunday at Seymour

By Dave Panske SEYMOUR, Wis. (June 19) – Charles Van Ooyen took the final checkers of the night Sunday at Seymour Raceway Park. Brandon Gagnon set the pace early for the Coors Light IMCA Stock Cars with Trent Nolan moving into the top spot on lap three. The pack stayed tight and Travis Springstroh moved up to challenge and took the lead on lap 10. Defending national champion Travis Van Straten, Van Ooyen, Bob Czarapata and Kyle Frederick were moving up through traffic. There were several cautions in the first half of the race but the final restart came on lap 15 and the last half of the race stayed green. Van Ooyen and Frederick challenged Springstroh after the restart and Van Ooyen made the move to the inside to take charge on lap 16. 10 Ironman Series race dates for IMCA Modifieds in Nevada

TONOPAH, Nev. – Ten $1,000 to win race dates at five Nevada tracks make up the 2016 Evenson Law Office Ironman Challenge Series for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds. All 10 features are qualifying events for the upcoming Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot and pay a minimum of $100 to start. The series opens with Saturday and Sunday, June 25 and 26 shows at Tonopah Speedway then moves on to Hawthorne Speedway on Monday and Tuesday, June 27 and 28. Lovelock Speedway hosts Wednesday and Thursday, June 29 and 30 programs. It’s off to Fernley 95A Speedway for Friday and Saturday, July 1 and 2 races. The series concludes Sunday and Monday, July 3 and 4, at Rattlesnake Raceway in Fallon.
