Dahl wins a doozy at Dacotah Speedway

MANDAN, N.D. Scott Bintz was the early leader. Trying to gain ground on points leader Spencer Wilson, who missed the feature, second place in points Shawn Strand was sent to the tail following a lap two caution. As Dahl looked for away around Bintz, 12th starting Jason Grimes passed Steven Pfeifer around the high side for third. Dahl took the lead with nine laps to go while Grimes was quickly catching Bintz for second. Lapped traffic wreaked havoc for Dahl as he made contact with Ryan Wolla, allowing second place Grimes to quickly close. Dahl held on for his first IMCA Modified victory at Mandan since 2014. By Randy Pospishil NORKOLK, Neb. (June 4) – Tiffany Bittner’s win in Saturday’s IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature at Off Road Speedway involved a change of strategy that paid off when she got to the front midway through the 15-lap race. “I started fourth row outside, and I knew the hole in turn three was on the bottom line where I like to run, so I ran the high side and tried to be smooth and keep the car under me,” Bittner said. “I just ran away with it at the end.” Bittner passed leader Tracy Buck on the inside while Brent Jochum attempted to pass on the outside. After a period of three-wide racing, Bittner sprinted to the finish line ahead of Buck and TeJay Mielke, who finished third after moving inside when Jochum slid wide in turn two with three laps remaining.
