EngineQuest inks three-year pact, continues support of IMCA through 2022 race season

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – IMCA drivers in four divisions will benefit from the support of EngineQuest through the 2022 race season. The Las Vegas, Nev., cylinder head and engine component manufacturer has renewed a contingency program that includes title sponsorship of both IMCA Sunoco Stock Car regions. In addition, cash bonuses, and product certificate and product awards will be given to IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod and Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMod competitors. “A great partnership is the key to our sponsorship,” stated EQ National Account Manager Stephen Richards. “This program has benefitted many IMCA drivers over the years and we are proud to continue it.” The new pact takes EQ through its 17th season of IMCA sponsorship. Smiley’s continues title sponsorship of IMCA Southern SportMod division

MESQUITE, Texas – Drivers in IMCA’s Southern SportMod division will enjoy the benefits of Smiley’s Racing Products title sponsorship for a third consecutive season. The Mesquite, Texas, high-performance parts manufacturer and distributor continues a broad program of awards for drivers in six IMCA divisions in 2020, most notably providing a portion of the $9,500 point fund to be paid to top 15 drivers in national Southern SportMod standings. Performance Distributors renews award program for IMCA Late Models, Stocks, Hobbies, SportMods

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Performance Distributors contingency awards program expanded in 2019 has been renewed for the 2020 IMCA race season. The Memphis, Tenn., high performance parts manufacturer, now in its 14th year of sponsorship, gives a combination of product awards and product certificates to IMCA Sunoco Late Model, IMCA Sunoco Stock Car, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod and Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMod competitors. Both the Late Model national champion and national rookie of the year earn D.U.I. distributors. Second through fifth place finishers in national point standings receive $50 product certificates; all Late Model track champions receive D.U.I. coil kits. ABILENE, Texas – Everything just got even bigger in Texas. Junior National Champion, Lady Eagle based on best 20 of 40 starts

VINTON, Iowa – If you’re looking for one word to describe general procedures and point structures for the 2020 IMCA race season, that word is Consistency. Integra continues rich slate of awards for six IMCA divisions

COOPERSVILLE, Mich. – Drivers in six IMCA divisions earn shares of nearly $10,000 in product certificates to be awarded again this season by Integra Racing Shocks. The Coopersville, Mich., manufacturer gives certificates valued at $350, $250 and $150 to top three eligible drivers in each of the five regions for IMCA Modifieds, both IMCA Sunoco Stock Car regions and both IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock regions, and to top three drivers in national Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod and Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMod standings. Thornton, Baca split Winter Challenge IMCA Modified features

(Jan. 25-26) – Two drivers already familiar with the view from victory lane at Canyon Speedway Park made their way back to that locale following season-opening IMCA Modified Winter Challenge feature victories. Ricky Thornton Jr. continued right where he left off last winter at Canyon, earning the $1,250 win on Saturday before Chaz Baca broke Thornton’s streak with the victory on Sunday. Both drivers were already on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Andy Altenburg and Brad King each swept their respective divisions in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, respectively, while Shelby Frye and Cody Thompson split Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod features. Both the Junior National Champion and Lady Eagle winner receive 3-gauge panel sets from the Lebanon, Tenn., manufacturer. IMCA Mach-1 Sport Compacts join Saturday shows at Abilene

ABILENE, Texas (Jan. 27) – A fourth IMCA division joins Saturday race programs at Abilene Speedway this season. Mach-1 Sport Compacts debut at the Texas speedplant on Feb. 15, night two of the season-opening Ice Breaker special. “I’ve watched the IMCA 4-cylinder class run at Boyd and at Kennedale. It’s a good division for a wide age range of drivers,” promoter Rob Poor said. “Sport Compacts can be a class people get into or back into racing with and only have to spend a couple thousand dollars.” “There are already three or four of these cars in town,” he added, “so we have a foundation to build on.” Twenty-one point races for Sport Compacts are scheduled at Abilene through Aug. 29. Gage, 141 team earn regional promoter awards, national ARPY nominations

CHICO, Calif. – Dennis Gage, operator and promoter of California IMCA venues Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico and Marysville Raceway in Marysville has won the Southwest and Western Region promoter of the year award given by Racing Promotion Monthly. Gage, who has managed Chico for 10 years and Marysville for five years, has been involved in motorsports for more than 50 years starting in 1962. He has crewed, raced, been a track official and ended up taking on track publicity and announcing in 1973.
