ABILENE, Texas – Everything just got even bigger in Texas.
Ten thousand dollar bonuses have been announced for any IMCA Sunoco Stock Car or IMCA Modified driver who can win both Sniper Speed Lone Star Tour main events Saturday, Feb. 15 at Abilene Speedway and Wednesday, Feb. 19 at Texas Motor Speedway.
The IMCA SportMod driver who can accomplish the same feat earns a $5,000 bonus.
Drivers in each of those divisions must be pre-registered for the tour by Feb. 10 – they can go to the sniperspeed.com website to do so – and must have perfect attendance during the Feb. 15-22 tour.
All tour competitors must be 2020 IMCA licensed members and it is highly recommended that those drivers who have not already purchased licenses for the new race season complete that process before the start of the much-anticipated tour. Licenses can be purchased online under the forms pulldown on the imca.com website.
Champion of the third annual Stock Car tour earns a $5,000 share of the $13,600 point fund.
One thousand to win features for both Stock Cars and Modifieds are Feb. 15 at Abilene; Sunday, Feb. 16 at Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Waco; Monday, Feb. 17 at Grayson County Speedway in Bells; Friday, Feb. 21 at Monarch Motor Speedway in Wichita Falls; and Saturday, Feb. 22 at Kennedale Speedway Park.
The Dirty 30 show Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 18 and 19 at TMS in Fort Worth pays $3,000 to the Stock Car winner and $2,000 to the Modified winner. All six Modified features during the week are Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifiers.
Kenny Wallace joins the tour for the Feb. 21 show at Monarch.
A $1,000 to win SportMod Civil War sponsored by Day Motor Sports will be held during the Dirty 30. Northern SportMods can race with the Southerns each night except Feb. 22.
The tour champion also becomes eligible to qualify for the Sunoco Race Fuels Race of Champions at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s in September.
Stock Car drivers must also be pre-registered to make themselves eligible for point fund shares and contingency awards. In addition to shares of the huge point fund, Stock Car drivers who pre-register and have perfect tour attendance have a chance to win an IMCA legal Stock Car engine from Midstate Machine valued at more than $8,000.
