Fine tuning schedule aims at earlier finish to Prelude, Super Nationals race programs

BOONE, Iowa (July 21, 2022) – Some fine tuning to the schedule should mean earlier endings to night two of the Prelude and to the final night of the 40th annual IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. The Sport Compact portion of the Prelude moves to the Saturday, Sept. 3 program at Boone Speedway. Waterman tops East Moline’s Tribute to Ron Gustaf

By Rob Hinckley EAST MOLINE, Ill. (July 20, 2022) – The emotion was real on the face of Jacob Waterman in the winner’s circle at East Moline Speedway. Waterman outdueled Chuck Hanna on a lap 19 restart and won the midweek Tribute to Ron Gustaf IMCA Sunoco Late Model feature. “(Ron) built my motor when I first started racing,” Waterman said post-race. “What he meant to us and racing is great.” That caution had flown for race long leader Gary Webb, who went too wide off turn two and smacked the wall while on the point. Waterman started on the tail and worked his way through the field to restart on the double front row. LaCrosse wins big twice at Van Iten Memorial

(July 17, 2022) – Big money brought the big hitters to The ‘Burg Speedway for Sunday’s second annual Eric Van Iten Memorial and Benji LaCrosse was the two-time big winner. LaCrosse earned $7,800 on the night, following his $5,000 IMCA Sunoco Stock Car win with the $2,800 Friesen Performance IMCA Modified checkers. Seventy-one Stock Cars were among the 188 entries for the special night. Aaron Stolp held serve as he led the opening lap from his P1 starting spot on the Stock Car grid. Back behind the wheel of a Stock Car, Modified hotshoe and 2004 and 2005 track champion Shawn Kilgore quickly raced to second as LaCrosse tiptoed into the third spot. Aikey has a night to remember at Indee’s Greg Hunter Memorial

Aikey led start to finish of Saturday’s 25-lap IMCA Sunoco Late Model main event, earning $2,777 and promptly giving the trophy to Hunter’s sons Nick and Andy after the last of victory lane photos were taken. “I met Greg probably 42 years ago when I started. Big payday for Shryock at Kossuth County’s Evers Memorial

The veteran with more than 500 wins during his career collected $1,000 as the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car winner and followed that up with a Friesen Performance IMCA Modified victory that paid another $2,300. Jeff Aikey and Dustin Kroening brought the Modified field to green. Aikey led the first three laps before Shryock reeled him in and checked out, slowed only by cautions on laps eight and nine. Berry led all 30 laps of the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at Dacotah Speedway in winning the Corral Sales Dakota Classic Tour finale, his record sixth victory in as many starts during the week of the 33rd annual tour. “Unbelievable,” Berry said afterwards. “We focused but we had fun. Berry makes run at IMCA Dakota Tour record book tonight

Berry won a fourth consecutive Friesen Performance IMCA Modified tour feature Tuesday at Southwest Speedway. Those checkers, good for $2,000, put him in position to match Steve Arpin’s perfect 5-for-5 tour campaign in 2007. Ricky Alvarado led the Modified field to green, but yellows came early and often and helped Berry move quickly through the field from his 10th starting spot. Berry three-peats, Speckman tops Stocks in IMCA Dakota Classic Tour at Williston Basin

(July 11, 2022) – Tom Berry Jr. went back-to-back-to-back and Matt Speckman went back to the winner’s circle for the first time since 2019 when the Corral Sales IMCA Dakota Classic Tour traveled to Williston Basin Speedway on Monday night. Berry raced to a third $2,000 Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature win in as many tour starts. Speckman’s $1,000 IMCA Sunoco Stock Car checkers were his career 89th in the division and earned him B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility as well.
