Whole Lotta Cash at stake in Aug. 2-5 IMCA Modified features

ALTA, Iowa – Four $1,000 to win IMCA Modified events in as many nights are on Race For The Dash and a Whole Lotta Cash cards in early August. Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot-qualifying features are scheduled Wednesday, Aug. 2 at Buena Vista Raceway in Alta; Thursday, Aug. 3 at Kossuth County Speedway in Algona; Friday, Aug. 4 at Crawford County Speedway in Denison; and Saturday, Aug. 5 at Shelby County Speedway in Harlan. The Algona show is during the county fair; BVR, Crawford County and Shelby County events are also Dash at the Clash qualifiers for the Aug. 8 Harris Clash at Hamilton County Speedway. All regular weekly divisions run each night at each track. Racing follows 6:30 p.m. hot laps at Harlan, 6:45 p.m. hot laps at Alta and 7 p.m. hot laps at Algona and Denison.

Lawn seating available for Driver Appreciation Night at Dodge City

By Lonnie Wheatley DODGE CITY, Kan. – All of southwest Kansas and beyond is abuzz about this Friday’s “Driver Appreciation Night” event at Dodge City Raceway Park. With drivers doling out tickets to the event to enhance their chances at landing the bigger prizes that will be awarded during the evening, a capacity crowd is expected to fill the grandstands and possibly then some. To accommodate the crowd, the grassy area to the north of the grandstand seating area will be available to use for lawn chair seating on Friday night. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to ensure a good seat in the grandstands or to bring a lawn chair to set up a comfortable vantage point to take in the night’s racing action that includes the Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. IMCA focused on best event in Super Nationals history

BOONE, Iowa – Drivers and fans won’t see a lot of changes in the facility or the format when they pull into Boone Speedway for the Sept. 4-9 IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. And IMCA President Brett Root believes that’s a good thing. “There are no race night changes. There were no major changes to the speedway since last year’s Super Nationals. This year we can focus on logistics and putting on the best event possible,” he said. “We are positioned to putting on the best event in the 35-year history of Super Nationals.” Southern SportMods joined the opening night card when they were added to the program last year and the Deery Brothers Summer Series for Late Models moved to Thursday. IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Nationals has early entries from 11 states

EAGLE, Neb. – Entries for the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Nationals are already in hand from 11 states. More than 100 drivers are anticipated to compete at the fifth annual event Aug. 31-Sept. 3 at Eagle Raceway. Sprint Nationals begins with an open house and practice on Thursday, Aug. 31. The starting field of 27 will be determined through qualifying on Sept. 1 and 2 and in last-chance qualifying on Sept. 3. Sunday’s main event pays $2,500 to win and a minimum $1,250 to start, plus a generous number of contingency awards. Friday and Saturday qualifying features both pay $700 to win while Saturday’s Jake Ita Memorial pays $1,000 to win and a minimum of $100 to start. DUBUQUE, Iowa – Opening night of the Dubuque County Fair brings the Arnold Motor Supply Hawkeye Dirt Tour for IMCA Modifieds to town for a Tuesday, July 25 event. The Open Wheel Race Day show at Dubuque Speedway pays $1,200 to win and a minimum $150 to start. The feature is also a qualifier for the 2018 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. OSKALOOSA, Iowa – Still looking for a repeat winner, the Arnold Motor Supply Hawkeye Dirt Tour next takes traveling IMCA Modifieds to Southern Iowa Speedway and Knoxville Raceway for a pair of midweek shows. The Wednesday, July 19 feature at Oskaloosa pays $1,000 to win while the Thursday, July 20 Dynamic Drivelines Dirt Duel event at Knoxville totes a $1,500 top prize.
