$2,500 is top check at Hancock County’s Maxyield SportMod Nationals

BRITT, Iowa – There’s a $2,500 check waiting for the winner of Hancock County Speedway’s Tuesday, June 16 Maxyield Cooperative SportMod Nationals. The MaxYield Seed-sponsored special for IMCA Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods pays a minimum of $300 to start. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and Iowa State, but no track points will be awarded. Entry fee is $75 and drivers can register on MyRacePass. Pit gates open at 5 p.m., the grandstand opens at 6 p.m. and racing follows 7 p.m. hot laps. Spectator admission is $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. Kids 12 and under get in free. Pit passes are $30. Also running that evening at Britt are IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Mach-1 Sport Compacts, for national, regional and state points. Lee County Drive For 5 schedule adjusted

By Brian Neal DONNELLSON, Iowa – Due to the COVID-19 pandemic that took all of April’s and most of May’s scheduled race events at Pepsi Lee County Speedway, promoters Brian and Marcie Gaylord have announced several schedule changes to the Drive For 5 program for IMCA Sunoco Late Models. There will still be five $1,000 to win feature qualifying nights to help set the stage for a potential $5,000 IMCA Sunoco Late Model Drive For 5 payday in mid September at the track. Four of the qualifying nights will take place on weekly Friday night events, on June 12, June 26, July 17 and Aug. 21, with one qualifying night on Saturday, Aug. 1. Drivers who compete in at least four of those events will be eligible to run for a top prize of $5,000 in the Saturday, Sept. 12 finale.  Shottenkirk Parts Express, local sponsor of the division, is the title sponsor of Drive For 5 as well. Dirt Duel, Bill Davis Memorial June 1-3 at Stuart

STUART, Iowa – IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods chase $3,000 top checks at Stuart Speedway’s June 1-3 Dynamic Drivelines Dirt Duel. Both 50-lap main events on Wednesday night pay a minimum of $400 to start. Qualifying fea­tures Monday and Tuesday send top four finishers to the big shows on June 3.  Chassis manufacturers’ races for both divisions pay $1,000 to win with a $50 entry fee and 100 percent payback. Hot laps start at 6:45 p.m. each night. Mach-1 Sport Compacts race on Tuesday. United Rebel Sprint Series making Thunder Through the Plains stop at 81

With counties and states slowly reopening, he has been on the phone contacting track promoters to give his “Rebels” a chance to hit the track.  He scored a marquee event as the tour will join the Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All-Star Circuit of Champi­ons appearance at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kan., on Sunday, June 7.  This $700 to win, $200 to start event for IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars will be only the second race on the 2020 race season that has suffered through event cancelations and plenty of reschedul­ing. Ken Schrader joins IMCA Modifieds for Springfield opener

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Quick-Quarter of the Springfield Raceway has been given the green flag to get the 2020 race season underway as Ken Schrader will be in competition against the tough area IMCA Modified drivers this Saturday, May 30.  The pit gates will open at 3:45 p.m. with the grandstands opening at 5 p.m. Hot laps are slated to start at 6:15 with racing action slated at 6:45 p.m. Draw cut-off will be 6:10 p.m. Pit passes for adults are $35 with adult grandstand admission $15.  Social distancing guidelines will be in effect in the pits and the grandstand. Masks are optional and hand sanitizer will be available at the track. IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars featured Friday at Heart O’ Texas

WACO, Texas – IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars join the Friday lineup, racing for $750 to win and $100 to start on opening night of Heart O’ Texas Speedway’s Quarantine Weekend.  IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and Texas State points will be awarded to the winged warriors as well on May 29, as they join IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods for the draw/redraw show at Waco.  Gates open at 6 p.m. and racing starts at 8 p.m. There is no entry fee and pit passes are $35. Spectator admission is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and military, $5 for students ages 6-12 and free for ages five and under. Drivers will be allowed up to six people in their pit area and social distancing guidelines will be followed on both sides of the track. Face masks are recommended and hand sanitizer stations will be located around the facility.

Dodge City sets June 14 practice to precede season opener

By Lonnie Wheatley  DODGE CITY, Kan. – At long last, the 2020 season opener atop the 3/8-mile Dodge City Raceway Park clay oval in southwest Kansas is within reach.  But before the season officially gets under way on June 20, the track has set an open practice for Sunday, June 14, from 5-9 p.m.  The practice set for the 3/8-mile oval precedes the Saturday, June 20 season opener that features the $750-to-win IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock Roundup with the Precise Racing Products Sprint Cars, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars in action as well. Phillips County Raceway primed for opening weekend, IMCA.TV broadcast

HOLYOKE, Colo. – A weekend twinbill starts the season for five IMCA divisions this Friday and Saturday, May 29 and 30 at Phillips County Raceway.  IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts run both nights at Holyoke for IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly racing National, regional, state and track, as well as Tri-State Tour and Colorado Alliance Tour points.  Both race programs start at 7 p.m. and promoter Joe Bellm explained that a “10 and 10” rule would be in effect in both the grandstands and pit area while maintaining social distancing: Spectators must not sit in groups of more than 10 and no more than 10 people should be with each car in the pits.  Masks are recommended but not required. Both programs will be broadcast by IMCA.TV.  Concessions will be available on both sides of the track.

Late Model, Stock Car pre-registration encouraged for 34 Raceway event

WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa – Two days remain before the IMCA Sunoco Late Model and IMCA Sunoco Stock Car openers at 34 Raceway and officials are encouraging racers to get pre-registered now at https://www.myracepass.com/tracks/2697/registrations/. Pre-registration is $200 per car and that includes eight pit passes per registrant. Upon arrival to the track drivers will receive a personalized envelope with eight wristbands inside. Driver and crew are asked to arrive together if possible.  Drivers are also asked to print and sign the pit release in advance and bring it with them. Winnemucca raises Shootout stakes for IMCA Modifieds

WINNEMUCCA, Nev. – The stakes got even higher for IMCA Modifieds running at Winnemucca Regional Raceway’s fourth annual High Desert Classic Shootout. The Saturday, May 30 feature pays $2,000 to win while the Sunday, May 31 main event carries a $3,000 top check. Both are Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifiers. Total Modified purse for the special, presented by Model T Hotel and Casino, is $11,000 and based on 20-car fields. Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods race for $500 to win both nights.
