COLBY, Kan. – Thomas County Speedway opens the new season with five IMCA divisions running both nights of the Friday and Saturday, April 9 and 10 Havoc on the Hi-Plains.  IMCA Modifieds run for $500 to win on Friday and for $1,000, plus a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berth, on Saturday.  IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars race for $400 to win on Friday and $750 on Saturday; Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks both for $300 on Friday and $500 on Saturday; and Mach-1 Sport Compacts for $125 on Friday and $200 on Saturday. HARLAN, Iowa – Shares of a $30,000 purse are at stake at Shelby County Speedway’s season-opening Dale Swanson Memorial. IMCA Modifieds chase a $2,500 top check and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berth in their Saturday, April 10 main event. IMCA STARS Mod Lites win big at Doe Run’s Small Tire Shootout

DOE RUN, Mo. – IMCA STARS Mod Lite drivers will be big winners at Doe Run Raceway’s Small Tire Shootout this weekend. The Friday, April 2 main event at Doe Run pays $750 to win while the Saturday, April 3 headliner boasts a $1,500 top check.  IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, KMJ Performance State and track points will be awarded both nights; start money for the Mod Lites is $50 on Friday and $100 on Saturday. Oil Capital Racing Series returns to Lawton Speedway on Saturday

(March 22) – After four nights of racing, the AmeriFlex/Oil Capital Racing Series for IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars travels southwest to Lawton Speedway on Saturday for the first time since 2017.  A total of 61 competitors have raced with the AmeriFlex/OCRS series to date this season and four different drivers have visited victory lane. In 2017, the AmeriFlex/OCRS visited Lawton three times and past champion Alex Sewell won twice, then finished second behind Andrew Deal.   Racing gets underway at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Merced starts season with Jerry Shannon tribute race

MERCED, Calif. – Merced Speedway opens the season March 27, paying IMCA Modifieds $2,000 to win and a minimum of $150 to start the Tribute to Jerry Shannon main event. The Shannon tribute is a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier and the Modified driver with the fastest time in qualifying nets another $200. Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods run from $750 to win and $50 to start. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Shaw Race Cars Western Region, KMJ Performance State and track points will be awarded. The event will be broadcast by IMCA.TV. Pit gates open at 1 p.m. and the drivers’ meeting is at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 6 p.m. and racing gets underway at 7 p.m. Pit passes are $40. Bradshaw Memorial starts I-30 season for IMCA STARS Mod Lites

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – I-30 Speedway will host its first IMCA STARS Mod Lite event on March 27, with the third annual Joey Bradshaw Memorial paying $500 to win. The 21-lap feature is expected to bring a strong field of competitors from Iowa, Missouri, Tennessee and Texas to challenge the Mod Lites of Arkansas regulars, among them the likes of defending track champion Bryce Vowan, a four-time winner last season, and defending MLA series champion Blake Wilson, who collected three checkers at Little Rock in 2020. Tough customers Chris Tucker and Chad Kirkpatrick will be counted among the contenders as well. Gates open at 5 p.m. Adult spectator admission is $20 with kids 12 and under free compliments of Dove Plumbing. Pit passes are $35.

Friday Oil Capital Racing Series show moved to Creek County Speedway

By John Rittenoure  TULSA, Okla. – Due to over seven inches of rain at Caney Valley Speedway over the past weekend, the track will not be able to host the AmeriFlex /Oil Capital Racing Series IMCA RaceSaveer Sprint Cars on Friday.  Creek County Speedway has stepped up and will run the series both Friday and Saturday this week.  On Friday, gates open at 4 p.m., sign-in from 5:30-6:30 p.m., drivers’ meeting at 6:45 p.m., hot laps at 7:15 p.m. and racing at 8 p.m. And on Saturday, gates open at 3 p.m., Sign-in is from 3:30-4:30 p.m., drivers’ meeting at 4:45 p.m., hot laps at 5:15 p.m. and racing at 6 p.m.  Mufflers are mandatory both nights. Both nights are standard $1,000 to win, $225 to start feature events.

California IMCA Speedweek expands to eight spring dates

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – West Coast fans who called for an encore after the inaugural California IMCA Speedweek can mark April 30-May 8 on their race calendar. The second annual tour, presented by Hoppes Motorsports, expands to feature eight dates at as many different tracks for IMCA Modifieds and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods. Modified main events pay $1,000 to win and a minimum of $100 to start and are qualifying races for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot; SportMod mains pay $750 to win and a minimum of $75 to take the green. Opening night is Friday, April 30 at Bakersfield Speedway.
