Diamond Park sets specials for IMCA STARS Mod Lites

NASHVILLE, Ark. – Taking home the win means taking home $1,000 at three special events this season for IMCA STARS Mod Lites at Diamond Park Speedway.

Saturday races April 10, May 29 and Aug. 7 are all part of a five-date Challenge Series at the Nashville, Ark., oval and each pays $100 to start with IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and KMJ Performance State points to be awarded.

Gates open at 4 p.m., the grandstand opens at 6 p.m., the draw closes at 6:45 p.m., hot laps are at 7 p.m. and racing starts at 7:30 p.m. each night.

The heat race winners’ Dash for Cash pays $100 and is sponsored by Arkadelphia Tire and Outfitters in Arkadelphia. The hard charger award is $50 and is sponsored by Tracey Clay and I-30 Speedway; 
the first “B” feature non-transferee award of $50 is sponsored by B’s Quick Stop in Mineral Springs.

TWR Racing Chassis and Blake Wilson have donated $50 to the 18th place finisher.

Top five drivers in that Designer Graphics-presented series earn shares of a $1,000 point fund, plus trophies, jackets and product awards.

The inaugural Tex Myers 8Ball Classic is July 3 at Diamond Park, with Mod Lites running for $888 to win, $88 to start and national and state points. That race is held in memory of the Arkansas Dwarf Car Association pioneer and 2020 track champion at Nashville, who died last year of Covid-19. 

His wife Judy will present the winner’s trophy and check. The 8Ball Classic was scheduled on off nights for the division at I-30 Speedway and Mod Lites of Arkansas. 

Entry fee at all four races is $30 with a pill draw for heats. Pit passes are $35, RACEceivers are required and transponders will be available to rent for $10.
