Spring Thaw starts season Saturday at Junction Motor Speedway

McCOOL JUNCTION, Neb. – The first green flag of the season flies at Junction Motor Speedway for the Saturday, April 3 Mike Chapin Memorial Spring Thaw. 

IMCA Sunoco Late Models chase a top $1,000 check that evening, with IMCA Modifieds running for $775 to win, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars for $675, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods for $525, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $500 and Mach-1 Sport Compacts for $200. 

IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Jet Racing Central, EQ Cylinder Heads Northern and Big Daddy Race Cars Northern region, and KMJ Performance State points will be awarded. Entry fee is $100 for Late Models, $70 for Modifieds, $60 for Stock Cars, $50 for SportMods, $40 for Hobby Stocks and $20 for Sport Compacts. Pre-registration is due by March 29. 

The Spring Thaw will be broadcast by IMCA.TV. 

Pit gates open at 2 p.m., the grandstand opens at 4 p.m., the draw closes at 5 p.m. and racing start at 6 p.m. Grandstand admission is $15 for adults, $6 for students ages 6-12 and free for five and under. Pit passes are $30.
