Shelby County Speedway opens with April 10 Dale Swanson Memorial

HARLAN, Iowa – Shares of a $30,000 purse are at stake at Shelby County Speedway’s season-opening Dale Swanson Memorial.

IMCA Modifieds chase a $2,500 top check and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berth in their Saturday, April 10 main event. IMCA Sunoco Late Models run for $2,000 to win, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods both for $1,500 to win and IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars for $700. 

Minimum start money is $200 for the Sprints, $150 for the Modifieds and Late Models, and $125 for the Stock Cars and SportMods. 

IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Side Biter Chassis North Central, EQ Cylinder Heads Northern and Big Daddy Race Cars Northern regional, and KMJ Performance State points will be awarded. 

More information is available on Facebook and drivers can enter through the MyRacePass link. Entry fees paid by April 5 are $50 for Modifieds and Late Models and $35 for Stock Cars and SportMods. Entry fees paid after April 5 are $80 for Modifieds and Late Models, $50 for Stock Cars and SportMods, and $25 for Sprint Cars. 

The Dale Swanson Memorial will be broadcast by IMCA.TV. Grandstand admission is $10 for adults, $5 for ages 6-18 and free for ages five and under. Pit passes are $35.

Gates open at 3 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 4 p.m. Hot laps are at 5 p.m. with racing to follow.
