$1,000 to win prize for Modifieds Friday at Marshalltown

By Jeremy Fox MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – This Friday, July 18, IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds race for $1,000 to win and a minimum of $100 to start at Marshalltown Speedway. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Belleville Motorsports North Central Region, Allstar Performance State and local track points will be awarded at the draw/redraw show. Also on the card for KMJ Performance Night will be IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, and the mod lites. Pit gates are set open at 5:15 p.m., the grandstand opens at 5:30 p.m., hot laps are at 7 p.m. and and racing is at 7:30 p.m.

Knoxville Raceway hosts IMCA’s July 17 Har­ris Clash special

KNOXVILLE, Iowa (July 14) – IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods return to Knoxville Raceway for the 23rd annual Harris Clash on Thursday, July 17. Top prize for the Modifieds is $2,000 while Northern SportMods run for $1,000 to win. The Clash is also the fifth event on the XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour schedule. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, home region, Allstar Performance State and special series points will be awarded for the 2014 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational bal­lot qualifier. Twenty-four cars will qualify for the Modified main event; one past champion’s provisional will be given to the most recent winner who is licensed and competing in weekly IMCA events but who does not qualify. $2,500 is top prize at Billings’ July 19 Modified Mayhem

BILLINGS, Mont. (July 14) – Billings Motorsports Park hosts its rescheduled Modified Mayhem this Saturday, July 19, with a $2,500 top prize going to the winner of the headline event. The inaugural special for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds pays a minimum of $100 to start, is sponsored by Sorenson Racing of Billings and is a qualifying event for the 2015 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Larry Shaw Racing Western or Belleville Motorsports North Central regional, Allstar Performance State and local track points will be awarded. Non-qualifiers taking at least one green flag during the evening get $50 tow money. There is no entry fee; pit passes are $25. LAMAR, Colo. (July 15) – Two of motorsports most popular drivers join the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified field for four Precise Racing Products BST Series dates. Ken Schrader suits up for the Friday, July 18 show at Lamar Speedway. DODGE CITY, Kan. – The IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified driver winning Dodge City Raceway Park’s Saturday, July 19 Stam­pede special earns $1,200 and one of the first berths on the 2015 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. The feature pays a minimum of $150 to start and IMCA Speedway Mo­tors Weekly Racing National, Jet Racing Central Region, All­star Performance State and local track points will be awarded. Wild West IMCA Modified Speedweek Right Around The Corner

By Ben Deatherage BANKS, Ore. – Over the span of a week’s time later in July, three tracks will host a total of six Wild West IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified Speedweek races to determine bragging rights for the division in the Pacific Northwest. Beginning on Saturday, July 19 at Sunset Speedway Park and ending on Saturday, July 26 at Willamette Speedway, the six-race series will determine who are the best IMCA Modified chauf­feurs in the region at three of the most competitive tracks in the state of Oregon. Cottage Grove Speedway will host two mid-week events on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 22 and 23. Since 2011 there have been three completed Modified Speedweeks.
