Marshalltown Speedway banquet is Nov. 21

By Jeremy Fox MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – The annual awards banquet honoring the top drivers this season at Marshalltown Speedway is set for Friday, Nov. 21 at the Marshall County Fairgrounds. The evening will begin with the social hour at 6:30 p.m. with dinner to follow at 7:30 p.m. at a cost of $20 per person. Once again, the banquet is open to all drivers, crew members and fans as we wind the up the celebration of 50 years at the Marshalltown Speedway. The top ten in points in each division will receive trophies and point fund money for those in attendance. Guests are asked to RSVP by e-mailing marshalltownspeedway@hotmail.com or by calling the office at 515 231-5444. Plans are already underway for the annual Frostbuster special on Friday, April 3, 2015 at the famed high banked 1/4 mile.

Friday show at Fulton next for IMCA’s Friesen Chevrolet Empire State Series

FULTON, N.Y. – Round six of the Friesen Chevrolet Empire State Series takes the tour for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds to Fulton Speedway for a Friday, Oct. 3 event. The $400 to win, minimum $75 to start feature is part of the opening night program for Fulton’s Outlaw 200 Weekend. Pit gates open at 3 p.m., the grandstand opens at 5 p.m., hot laps are at 6 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m. Grandstand admission is $22 for adults and $8 for kids 14 and under. Droste proves up to Challenge at Hamilton County

WEBSTER CITY, Iowa (Sept. 27) – It’s been a pretty good September for Tyler Droste. Droste raced all the way from 11th to catch Ryan Ruter on the final circuit and win Saturday’s Fall Challenge feature for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds at Hamilton County Speedway. The $1,000 victory put him on the ballot for next year’s Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. “We have a new Jet Mod that I’m really still getting used to driving,” Droste said. “I think we’re getting better and better in this car. It’s really fast. Kennedale Speedway Park hosts Showdown special this weekend

KENNEDALE, Texas – Kennedale Speedway Park’s eighth annual Showdown special is Friday and Saturday, Oct. 3-4, with four IMCA divisions on the card. Topless IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, topless Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMods, IMCA Eagle Motorsports RaceSaver Sprint Cars and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars all run for $1,500 to win. The Modified feature is a qualifier for the 2015 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot Pit gates open at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2 for registration and a 6-10 p.m. practice session. Final point races of 2014 this weekend

VINTON, Iowa – Final point races of the 2014 IMCA weekly point season are this weekend, Sept. 26-28. Champions and rookies of the year for eight divisions will be announced as soon as possible after bonus points are figured. All standings for the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified, IMCA Eagle Motorsports RaceSaver Sprint Car, IMCA Sunoco Stock Car, Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMod, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock and Mach-1 Sport Compact classes, as well as West Coast Super Stocks become official at noon CST on Monday, Oct. 27. The IMCA national awards banquet will be Saturday, Nov. 29 at the Cornhusker Hotel in Lincoln, Neb. Tickets will be $35. That feature is a qualifier for the 2015 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot and pays a minimum of $125 to start. Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods run for $750 to win, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $500 to win and Mach-1 Sport Compacts for $250 to win. JACKSON, Minn. (Sept. 25) – IMCA’s Redline Racing Parts North Star Series wraps up its fourth season during the 36th annual Jackson Nationals program on Saturday, Sept. 27. The IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature is also part of the Doug Cellan Memorial and pays $1,750 to win.
