Schrader Night up next at Salina Speedway 

By Dusty Wiegert SALINA, Kan. — Last August, a new face entered a night’s racing action at the Salina Speedway, but it was a very familiar one as NASCAR veteran Ken Schrader visited the 3/8 mile oval. Schrader competed in the Long McArthur IMCA Modified division and finished a respectable sixth place after starting 13th in an exciting feature event that saw Corey Burch outlasting Corey Lagroon for the win. He returns on Friday, May 6 to go head to head against the local drivers once again. The IMCA Modified division will also be racing for $1,000 to win, with the winning driver earning a place on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot for the race to be held during the IMCA Speed­way Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Quad City Speedway Deery show rescheduled for May 15

EAST MOLINE, Ill. (May 2) – The Deery Brothers Summer Series show at Quad City Speedway has been rescheduled for Sunday, May 15. Rained out on May 1, the IMCA Late Model tour event at East Moline pays $2,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start. No change in the daily schedule has been made from the original race date: Pit gates open at 3 p.m. while the grandstand opens at 3:30 p.m. Hot laps are at 5 p.m. with racing to follow. Also on the card are Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods for all applicable points, along with street stocks. Box seating is $18. Michigan’s I-96 opens Friday with $1,196 to win IMCA Ice Breaker

LAKE ODESSA, Mich. – I-96 Speedway opens this Friday, May 6 with the $1,196 to win Ice Breaker special for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds. The 2016 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier pays a minimum of $125 to start. All applicable points, including local track points, will be awarded. There is no entry fee. Top two finishers in each Modified heat will be entered in the $500 to win dash for cash. DUBUQUE, Iowa – A top check of $1,000 and a spot on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot are at stake for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds this Sunday, May 1 at Dubuque Speedway. Extra money is also on the line for Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Stocks Cars, with $500 paid to win in both divisions. IMCA Late Models have the night off at Dubuque. Electric City reschedules Montana Spring Roundup

GREAT FALLS, Mont. – Rain. Snow. Mud. Freezing temperatures. Blame them all for the postponement of Electric City Speedway’s season opening Montana Spring Roundup, originally on the calendar for this weekend and now rescheduled to next Friday and Saturday, May 6 and 7. Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds race for $500 to win both nights. Twenty cars take the green flag in each main event, which pay a minimum of $75 to start. Tow money is also $75. LONGDALE, Okla. – Ken Schrader and Kenny Wallace return for IMCA Night specials on Wednes­day, May 4 at Longdale Speedway and Thursday, May 5 at Outlaw Motor Speedway. Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified features each evening pay $1,000 to win and are qualifying events for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. United Rebel Sprint Series invades RPM Saturday night 

HAYS, Kan. – For the first time in history, IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Allstar Performance State and special series points will be on the line Saturday, April 30 when the United Rebel Sprint Series hits the track at RPM Speedway in Hays. The unique partnership between the URSS and IMCA EMI RaceSaver Sprint Cars in 2016 allows drivers from area states to compete for the first time at RPM Speedway with the URSS and earn IMCA points. This will be the first of three appearances by the Rebels in 2016. Last year Koby Walters scored his first URSS feature win at the opening race at RPM. The young Liberal driver put on a show as he motored his way to the win. Deery Series heads to Quad City Speedway for Sunday show

EAST MOLINE, Ill. – The Deery Brothers Summer Series looks for its fourth winner in as many 30th season shows this Sunday, when touring IMCA Late Models travel to Quad City Speed­way. The May 1 main event at East Moline pays $2,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start. It’s also the first time in the series’ 454-race history that an event has been held on May Day. Davenport Speedway season opener set for Friday

DAVENPORT, Iowa – The battle for 2016 track championships will begin this Friday, April 22, with the Davenport Speedway season opener. All four weekly classes, Petersen Plumbing & Heating IMCA Late Models, Eriksen IMCA Modi­fieds, Koehler Electric Street Stocks and the Hawkeye Auto IMCA Northern SportMods, will be in action on the 1/4-mile dirt oval. The weekly classes will be joined this Friday by the 4-Stock divi­sion. The defending track champions at the Davenport Speedway are: Late Model, Justin Kay; Modi­fied, Bruce Hanford; Northern SportMod, Tony Olson; Street Stock, Perry Gellerstedt; and 4-Stock, Brandon Dahl. Positive response nets 2016 start for IMCA Northwest SportMod Challenge 

PORTLAND, Ore. – Shares of a point fund that already totals $1,200 will be paid to Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod drivers competing at three tracks in Oregon and another in northern California. Northwest SportMod Challenge standings will be determined using a system awarding 10 points for first place down to one point for 10th place on back. Drivers’ 12 best feature finishes during the IMCA regular point season at Cottage Grove Speedway, Southern Oregon Speedway and Sunset Speedway in Oregon and at California’s Siskiyou Motor Speedway will apply. “The IMCA Northern SportMod division is getting bigger and bigger here in the Pacific Northwest,” explained Challenge organizer Steve Kerstulovich. “I was going to spend this year talking to potential sponsors.
