$20,000 at stake in IMCA Cheesehead Triple Crown

FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. (June 17) – The richest week of IMCA Racing in Wisconsin takes Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified drivers to 141 Speedway, Oshkosh SpeedZone Raceway and Shawano Speedway for the three installments of the Cheesehead Triple Crown. A top check of $10,000 is at stake at the June 22-23 Clash at the Creek. Both the June 24 Battle at the Zone at Oshkosh and the June 25 Fury at the Fairgrounds at Shawano pay $5,000 to win. All three features are Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying events. Qualifying for the Clash starts Wednesday, June 22 at Francis Creek. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods race for $500 to win both days. Cottage Grove hosts Shoot Out rounds three and four

By Ben Deatherage COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. – Cottage Grove Speedway hosts the third and fourth races of the 2016 Wild West IMCA Modified Shoot Out Monday and Tuesday, June 13 and 14. More than 40 Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified drivers are expected to make the trip and will be coming from all over North America, including Colorado, North Dakota, British Columbia and even North Carolina. Prices each night are $8 for adult general admission, youths ages 6-12 are $5 and kids five and under are free. Two-day passes are available for $10. The front gate opens at 4 p.m. with racing scheduled to get underway at 6 p.m. both days. Mark Wauge is the only multi-feature winner of the class in local competition at CGS. Kinzer Cox, Collen Winebarger, Curtis Towns and Jesse Williamson have also visited victory lane in 2016 at the famed ¼-mile clay oval. SPI announces double IMCA Late Model features

FARLEY, Iowa – Last Friday night’s racing program came to an abrupt halt when Mother Nature unloaded on Farley Speedway. The GSI Collision Specialists IMCA Modified feature had just taken the checkered flag when the rains moved, in forcing SPI officials to postpone the Out Pace Racing Products IMCA Late Model feature. This Friday night, June 17, Farley Speedway will run two 25-lap IMCA Late Model features. The makeup feature event has 15 positions open and drivers who were not in attendance last Friday night will be able to qualify for the makeup as well as the regularly scheduled race simply by paying an additional pit pass. It will be Legends Night on Friday, an annual event honors retired dirt track divers who are a rich part of the history of racing in Eastern Iowa. In addition all weekly classes will be racing along with special guests the Vintage Coupe drivers. Hot laps get underway at 7 p.m. with racing to follow at 7:30 p.m.

Tri-City’s Greased Pig special pays $1,066 to IMCA Modified winner

AUBURN, Mich. – Tri-City Motor Speedway’s sixth annual Greased Pig special is Friday, June 17 and pays the Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified winner $1,066. The main event will be 38 laps, pays a minimum of $146 to start and is a qualifying event for the 2016 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Dirt Works Eastern Region, Allstar Perfor­mance State and local track points will be awarded. There is no entry fee. Deery Series, IMCA Hawkeye Dirt Tour at West Liberty for June 14 twinbill 

WEST LIBERTY, Iowa (June 10) – The Deery Brothers Summer Series and the Hawkeye Dirt Tour pack another 1-2 Tuesday night punch, this time on June 14 at West Liberty Raceway. While the IMCA Late Model tour has made 13 previous visits to West Liberty, most recently when the 30th annual series opened on April 9, next Tuesday’s event marks the first-ever visit there by the tour for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds. IMCA SportMod Challenge winner earns $2,000 at Davenport 

DAVENPORT, Iowa – Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods take over the spotlight in a $2,000 to win main event on Friday, June 10 at Davenport Speedway. The IMCA SportMod Challenge will use a draw/redraw format and all racing will be on the quarter-mile oval.  Pit gates open at 4:30 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m., with hot laps at 6:15 p.m. and racing at 6:45 p.m. Spectator admission is $15 for adults, $14 for seniors and free for kids 12 and under when accompanying a paid adult. URSS Rebels ready for another doubleheader weekend 

COLBY, Kan. – The 2016 United Rebels Sprint Series has been yet another success despite several rainouts. Six races with six different winners is proving once again that parity is the name of the game in 2016. This weekend, the IMCA EMI RaceSaver Sprint Car tour return to a track that has seen four different winners in the four trips to Thomas County Speedway in Colby, Kan. The lightning fast 3/8th-mile oval has always been one of the drivers’ favorite tracks to race at over the years. Hot laps with start at 6 p.m. Saturday with racing at 7 p.m. On Sunday night, June 5, the URSS Rebels will return to RPM Speedway in Hays, Kan., for the Steve King Foundation Night. IMCA Late Models chase $1,000 check June 16 at Kossuth County

ALGONA, Iowa – IMCA Late Models race for $1,000 to win when they join the weekly race program at Kossuth County Speedway on Thursday, June 16. The runner-up takes home $600 with $400 for third, $300 for fourth, $250 for fifth, $200 for sixth and a minimum of $175 to start. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded to drivers looking to turn laps at the Algona oval before returning for the July 7 Deery Brothers Summer Series event. Pit gates open at 2 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5:30 p.m. Hot laps are at 7 p.m. with racing to follow. There is no entry fee and pit passes are $25. IMCA Dirt Wars starts Idaho Falls Raceway season 

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho – The second annual Dirt Wars special this Saturday, June 4 starts the 2016 season at Idaho Falls Raceway. The Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified feature pays $1,500 to win and is a Fast Shafts All-Star Invita­tional ballot qualifying event while top prize in the IMCA SportMod feature is $750. All applicable IMCA points, including local track, will be awarded and RACEceivers are required in both divisions. Pit gates open at noon and the grandstand opens at 3 p.m. Outlaw karts take to the track at 5 p.m. with the evening program set for 7 p.m. There will be a monster truck freestyle event at intermission. Grandstand admission is $15 for adults, $10 for kids and free for three and under. Modified en­try fee is $50 and pit passes are $15. A practice session will be held Friday, June 3.
