Deery Series bound for Boone on Memorial Day

BOONE, Iowa – The Deery Brothers Summer Series returns to Boone Speedway for its traditional Memorial Day show next Monday, May 26. Touring IMCA Late Models race for $3,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start the holiday feature. They’ll be joined on the card by IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and mod lites. Pit gates and the grandstand at Boone both open at 2 p.m. Hot laps are at 4 p.m. and racing starts at 5 p.m. Spectator admission is $15 for adults, $7 for teenagers ages 13-17 and free for kids 12 and under. Pit passes are $30. A dozen of the 40 previous Deery Series events held at Boone have been on Memorial Day. The only repeat winner has been Terry Neal of Ely, in 2005 and 2006. IMCA Modifieds, SportMods top Aztec’s Bard Memorial card

AZTEC, N.M. – Touring IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds and IMCA SportMods get top billing at Aztec Speedway’s Friday and Saturday, May 23-24 Ryan Bard Memorial. Both race programs double as Border States Racing Series events. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and hobby stocks also run and all applicable IMCA points, including local track points, will be awarded each night. Pit gates open at 5 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 6:30 p.m. both days. Kings’ May 24-25 Nationals features IMCA Modifieds, Super Stocks, SportMods

HANFORD, Calif. – IMCX Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds and West Coast Super Stocks race for $1,500 to win both nights of Kings Speedway’s Saturday and Sunday, May 24-25 Nationals. Proceeds from the weekend special, held for the first time at Hanford, go to Relay for Life. Both Modified and Super Stock features pay a minimum of $100 to start; Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods are also on the Sunday ticket and vie for $800 to win. Modified Madness 50 at Davenport Speedway set for May 23

DAVENPORT, Iowa – Fifty laps will be the distance and $2,000 is the winner’s share of the purse for Davenport Speedway’s Friday, May 23 IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified Madness special. Pit gates open at 4:30 p.m., the grandstand opens at 5 p.m., the drivers’ meeting is at 6 p.m. and hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. Racing on the ¼-mile oval starts at 7 p.m. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Belleville Motorsports North Central Region and Allstar Performance State, but no local track points will be awarded for the draw/redraw show. The $50 entry fee can be paid at the gate. Pit passes are $25. All other weekly divisions, including the IMCA Late Models and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, are on the evening’s card and race for all applicable points. Benton County XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour race postponed

VINTON, Iowa (May 13) – Blame all that rain on Monday and this morning’s unseasonably cool temperatures for postponement of tonight’s XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour event at Benton County Speedway. The fifth annual tour for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds was to have opened Tuesday at Vinton. That race will now be rescheduled on a date to be determined. First night for the series will now be on Memorial Day Monday, May 26 at I-35 Speedway in Mason City. The feature pays $1,000 to win, a minimum of $150 to start and is a qualifier for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 6 p.m. with racing to follow. Benton County Speedway hosts May 13 XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour opener

VINTON, Iowa – Opening night brings the XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour back to the first track the IMCA Modified division called home. The Tuesday, May 13 IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified feature at Benton County Speedway pays $1,000 to win, a minimum of $150 to start, and is a qualifying event for the 2014 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Previous tour winners at Vinton include Vern Jackson of Waterloo in 2011, Jeff Waterman of Quincy, Ill., in 2012 and Cayden Carter of Oskaloosa last May. All three will be back in town for opening night, as part of a strong contingent of local competitors and drivers from Iowa and Illinois chasing series points. Clash at the Creek pre-entry is open

FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. –Wednesday and Thursday, June 25 and 26 mark the dates of 141 Speedway’s sixth annual Clash at the Creek. Canyon Speedway Park set for Mother’s Day Race for the Cure

Following an open practice session tonight (Wednesday) from 6-9 p.m., the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds headline Saturday’s event atop the 1/3-mile clay oval that also includes X-Modifieds, Pure Stocks, Renegades, Dwarf Cars and Lady Stocks.
