Alec Fett Charges from 12th to Win Scott Cook One-Eye Memorial at Kossuth County

By Greg Grabianowski ALGONA, Iowa (June 11, 2026) — Alec Fett put together an impressive drive in the Scott Cook One-Eye Memorial SportMod Nationals, charging from 12th starting position to collect the $1,000 payday and his first victory of the season in the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod division at Kossuth County Speedway. Josh Appel led the opening lap before Cole Suckow took over on lap two and appeared poised to challenge for the win. Fett steadily worked his way forward through multiple restarts and moved into contention by the midway point of the 20-lap feature. A caution on lap nine for Jake Simpson’s flat tire slowed the action, and another yellow followed after contact between Jacob Korte and Mat Hollerich ended both drivers’ evenings. Suckow remained in command until lap 12, when Fett powered around him on the high side of the backstretch to take over the lead. A final caution for Bailey Stimson’s mechanical issues on lap 14 tightened the field one last time, but Fett was flawless on the restart and drove away for [Read More]

Nelson Claims Tony Kniffen Memorial Stock Car Victory at McLean County

By Brandon Beeter UNDERWOOD, N.D. (June 13, 2026) — Jake Nelson crossed over every slider thrown his way and used the momentum of the high groove to perfection to capture Saturday night’s Tony Kniffen Memorial for Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars at McLean County Speedway. The $1,535-to-win feature served as a B&B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational qualifier and headlined the McLean County Fair doubleheader weekend. Keenan Glasser and Jake Nelson shared the front row and immediately put on a show, exchanging sliders during the opening three laps before Nelson secured the lead. Several cautions gave Marcus Tomlinson and Chris Tuchscherer opportunities to challenge on restarts, but Nelson consistently crossed over every slider thrown his way and used the momentum of the high groove to perfection. The Williston driver raced to his second EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season, with the triumph coming at his second different track of 2026. The win also placed Nelson on the eligibility list for the B&B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational to be ran at the Speedway Motors IMCA Super [Read More]

Winebarger Scores First Win of Season in IMCA Wild West Speedweek Opener at Banks

By Ben Deatherage BANKS, Ore. (June 13, 2026) — Two-time IMCA Wild West Speedweek champion Collen Winebarger used a late restart to capture the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature and open the 2026 tour at Sunset Speedway Park with his 14th career series victory. Jeff Lovell led the opening lap and quickly established a comfortable advantage. The leader encountered lapped traffic on lap eight but continued to maintain a strong pace as the race remained under green. A caution on lap 15 brought the field back together and allowed Winebarger, aboard the John Gaynor-owned No. 99X, to begin mounting a serious challenge. Another caution on lap 19 proved pivotal, as the Corbett driver maneuvered into the lead down the backstretch on lap 20. A final caution on lap 23 set up one more restart, but Winebarger was flawless when racing resumed and drove away for his first DeVilbiss Racing Chassis Western Region victory of the season. The win was his 14th career Wild West Speedweek triumph, second series victory at Sunset Speedway Park after previously winning [Read More]

DeCarlo Charges from Eighth for First Watsonville Win of 2026

By Gary Thomas WATSONVILLE, Calif. (June 12, 2026) — The Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified main event at Watsonville Speedway saw multiple different leaders while putting on a solid show in its shortened 20-lap feature. Jonathan Hagio took the early command, but it was short-lived as Robert Marsh blasted to the point on lap four. A lengthy red flag period to clean up a crash in turn two forced officials to trim the race from 25 laps to 20 with curfew looming. Jim Pettit II looked extremely fast and took over the lead on lap nine. Starting eighth, however, “Quick Nick” DeCarlo methodically worked his way forward before assuming command with 14 laps complete. Once out front, DeCarlo was never seriously challenged and raced away to score his first DeVilbiss Racing Chassis Western Region victory of the season and first Watsonville Speedway triumph of 2026. Pettit crossed the stripe second, followed by Marsh, Fred Lind and Hagio. Just outside the top five, Gordon Joel turned in one of the night’s strongest performances, advancing from 11th to sixth. Mark Martini: 100 Wins in Homebuilt Equipment

By Ben Deatherage AVON, Minn. (June 10, 2026) — The grandstands at North Central Speedway had seen a lot over the years. Championships. Heartbreak. Future stars. Veteran racers. And thousands upon thousands of laps turned around the Brainerd-area clay. On May 23, 2026, the Brainerd-area track witnessed something it had never seen before. Mark “Bud” Martini parked his No. 4Q2 IMCA Northern SportMod in Victory Lane for the 100th time in his career, becoming the first Minnesota driver to reach the century mark in the division and just the 13th member of the SportMod Century Club. The moment carried extra significance. The victory came on the final night of Cliff Sasker’s tenure as promoter before retirement, ending an era at a racetrack Martini had called home for decades. “That was pretty special,” Martini said. “I’m probably one of the longest racing guys there at Brainerd. Cliff is a super, super guy. I don’t know anyone in the racing industry better than him. He is a good man, and it was an honor to race at his [Read More]

Mackenthun Prevails in Wild Stock Car Finish at Arlington

By Susan Allen ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 6, 2026) — A wild night of racing at Arlington Raceway produced plenty of thrills, spills and dramatic finishes, highlighted by Dan Mackenthun’s second straight Sunoco IMCA Stock Car victory at the Sibley County fairgrounds oval. The feature saw its share of carnage early. Ryan Grochow and Garett Uecker led the field during the opening laps before contact exiting turn four sent Uecker sideways, collecting Matt Schauer and Matt Speckman in a crash that eliminated all three drivers. On the restart, Grochow again showed the way, but Mackenthun quickly charged from his 12th starting position and worked his way to the front. The Hamburg driver and Trent Loverude traded positions repeatedly while slicing through lapped traffic. Loverude nosed ahead as the white flag waved, but Mackenthun answered immediately entering turn one and regained the advantage for good. He held off Loverude for his fifth EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season, second at Arlington and second straight at the track. Loverude finished second, while Daniel Eckblad turned in [Read More]
