GOODLAND, Kan. (Aug. 23, 2026) — Nick Ronnebaum reached a career milestone Sunday at Goodland Raceway, scoring his 100th career Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock victory one night after Brayden Hilzer prevailed in a close Saturday night battle.
Bingston Rogers led Sunday’s feature early while Ronnebaum quickly charged forward from his ninth starting position. Ronnebaum reached second by lap three and worked past Rogers for the lead on lap four.
A caution later that circuit bunched the field, but Ronnebaum sailed away on the restart and never looked back, taking the checkered flag for his 15th B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region victory of the season.
Mitchell Fischer charged nine positions to finish second and earn hard charger honors. Nick Tubbs finished third in his return to racing after a four-year hiatus, Aiden Miller was fourth, and Ted Trumbo completed the top five.
Saturday’s feature saw Hilzer and Levi Jones start from the front row, with Hilzer establishing the early advantage.
Fischer and Trent Matson joined the battle during the second half of the race, and Fischer pulled alongside Hilzer during the closing laps. Hilzer held him off to take the checkered flag for his ninth B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region victory of 2026.
Fischer advanced seven positions to finish second and earn hard charger honors, Matson was third, Jones finished fourth, and Ethan Fabrizius was fifth.
Holzmeister and Brack Split Stock Car Features
Doug Holzmeister and Bill Brack split the weekend’s Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature victories, with both having to fight for their trips to victory lane.
Saturday’s feature saw Holzmeister and Tyler Tipton battle closely for the lead as Jason Rogers joined the fight, creating three-wide racing at times.
Holzmeister eventually found the middle groove to his liking and pulled away during the closing laps to collect his third EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season.
Rogers finished second, Tipton was third, Layne Bellm took fourth, and Jeff Tubbs rounded out the top five. Rogers and Austin Rhoades shared hard charger honors after each advanced three positions.
Brack grabbed the early advantage from the front row Sunday before Phil Reid worked his way past and into the lead on lap five.
Brack answered one circuit later, regaining the top spot on lap six. Reid then had to contend with Holzmeister and Rogers, with Rogers eventually securing second but running out of laps to track down the leader.
Brack took the checkered flag for his third EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of 2026. Rogers was second, Reid finished third, Holzmeister was fourth and Tipton completed the top five. Rogers was the hard charger after advancing six positions.
Barnhart Sweeps Goodland SportMod Weekend
Josh Barnhart made it a clean sweep of the weekend’s Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMod features, coming from deep in the field both nights.
Cody Burkhardt paced the early stages of Saturday’s feature before Barnhart quickly worked his way forward. Barnhart reached the top three by lap three and continued his charge before making the winning move in turns one and two with five laps remaining.
A late caution gave the field one more opportunity, but Barnhart pulled away over the final four circuits to secure his fifth victory of the season and second at Goodland.
Brianna Maughlin finished second, Doug Beaman was third, Monty Nordyke took fourth, and Jasen Gray completed the top five. Barnhart was the hard charger after advancing seven positions.
Jayden Alvarado led the opening circuit Sunday before Barnhart charged from fifth to take command on lap two.
Alvarado pressured Barnhart over the next two circuits but couldn’t make the pass, and Barnhart eventually opened his advantage and cruised to the weekend sweep.
The victory was Barnhart’s sixth of the season. Alvarado finished second, Ryan Kirchoff was third, Jack Kirchoff took fourth, and Maughlin rounded out the top five. Barnhart earned hard charger honors after advancing four positions.
Belec and Bussell Share Modified Honors
Eddie Belec and Justin Bussell split the weekend’s IMCA Modified feature victories, with Belec winning Saturday before Bussell went flag-to-flag Sunday.
Nick Link paced the opening four laps Saturday before Belec made his move to the front on lap five. Two cautions during the middle stages of the race couldn’t derail Belec, who stayed in command and took the checkered flag for his fourth Jet Racing Central Region victory of the season.
Dominic Ursetta finished second, Greg Gustus was third, Link took fourth, and John Burrow was fifth. Ursetta, Burrow and Max Quint shared hard charger honors after each advanced five positions.
Bussell jumped out to the early advantage from the pole Sunday while Darren Crouch settled into second. Crouch remained closest to the leader during laps two and three but couldn’t find a way past.
Bussell led the distance to secure his first Jet Racing Central Region victory of 2026.
Crouch finished second, Bubba Alvarado was third, and Danny Keller took fourth. Link was unable to finish after suffering a flat left rear tire during the closing laps. Alvarado was the hard charger.
