Nicholas Ronnebaum: Racing His Way Into the Century Club

By Ben Deatherage ONAGA, Kan. (Sept. 21, 2026) — Nicholas Ronnebaum began the weekend nearly 700 miles from home. By the time he finished it, he had joined one of the most exclusive groups in Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock racing. Ronnebaum won Friday night at Fix It Forward Speedway in West Fargo, N.D. He won again Saturday at Salina Speedway. Then came Sunday, Aug. 23. Ronnebaum arrived at Goodland Raceway in western Kansas sitting on 99 career victories and facing another track he barely knew. “The night wasn’t too bad,” Ronnebaum said. “I hadn’t really raced Goodland before and didn’t know what to expect, but I got out to see the track and set the car up for tracks that I’d been on that looked similar to it.” Whatever he saw worked. Ronnebaum Reaches 100 Wins at Goodland Raceway

(Aug. 23, 2026) — Nick Ronnebaum reached a career milestone Sunday at Goodland Raceway, scoring his 100th career Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock victory one night after Brayden Hilzer prevailed in a close Saturday night battle. Bingston Rogers led Sunday’s feature early while Ronnebaum quickly charged forward from his ninth starting position. Ronnebaum reached second by lap three and worked past Rogers for the lead on lap four. A caution later that circuit bunched the field, but Ronnebaum sailed away on the restart and never looked back, taking the checkered flag for his 15th B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region victory of the season. Mitchell Fischer charged nine positions to finish second and earn hard charger honors. Nick Tubbs finished third in his return to racing after a four-year hiatus, Aiden Miller was fourth, and Ted Trumbo completed the top five. Heavy Rains Force Cedar County Changes; Reinhart Memorial Reset for Oct. 11

By Jerry Mackey TIPTON, Iowa (Oct. 3, 2026) — Heavy rains throughout the week in the Tipton area forced Darkside Promotions officials Ryan Duhme and Tim Current to postpone racing scheduled at Cedar County Raceway. Both the Gary Reinhart Memorial and Fall Bash fell victim to the wet weather after heavy rainfall left the Cedar County Fairgrounds saturated without enough drying time for racing to be held over the weekend. The Gary Reinhart Memorial has been rescheduled for Sunday, Oct. 11, at Cedar County Raceway. Gates will open at noon, with hot laps scheduled for 2 p.m. The program will feature Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds, Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods, and Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks. With the Cedar County Fairgrounds unavailable for the remainder of October, the Fall Bash will move to Maquoketa Speedway. An open practice is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 29, followed by full racing programs Friday and Saturday, Oct. 30-31.

Weaver Brothers Go 1-2 in Dream Night at Thundering Rock

(Oct. 3, 2026) — The Weaver brothers enjoyed a dream weekend at Thundering Rock Raceway, with Kolby Weaver leading Kasey Weaver across the finish line for a family 1-2 Saturday night’s co-sanctioned Virginia Sprint Series and Laurel Highlands Sprint Series RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car feature. Kasey started the evening by winning the first heat race, while Colton Hendershot took the second. Following the redraw, Kolby and Kasey shared the front row for the feature on the big, high-speed western Maryland oval at the Allegany County Fairgrounds. Kolby jumped to the early lead with Kasey right behind him. Ryan Lynn, Hendershot, and Chris Dolan were among the early front runners as the Weaver brothers set the pace. Natenstedt Rallies Late for Back-to-Back Pettit Shootout Triumph

(Oct. 3, 2026) — Shawn Natenstedt came from outside the top five at the lap 40 fuel break to capture Saturday night’s $3,006-to-win 16th annual Pettit Shootout for the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds at Watsonville Speedway, becoming the first driver since Bobby Hogge in 2020-21 to win consecutive editions. Natenstedt, the three-time Nevada State champion from Fernley, remains the only non-California driver to win the event in the Modified division. Hogge put the Paul Guglielmoni-owned No. 2H out front on lap one before Gavyn Manning used a lap seven restart to make a double overtake around the high side and take command in the Don Clark-provided No. 51G. Manning remained out front through challenges from 2026 IMCA Wild West Speedweek champion Matt Sanders and 2026 Merced Speedway champion Paul Stone before Natenstedt worked his way into contention.
