MAQUOKETA, Iowa (Aug. 22, 2026) — Shane Paris and Joe Huenefeld split the weekend’s Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature victories at Maquoketa Speedway, with Paris delivering when it mattered most in Saturday night’s season championship finale.
Paris entered the night holding a slim two-point advantage over Spencer Diercks and Wes Digman in the track championship chase. Starting third in the 20-lapper, the Muscatine driver raced his Performer Chassis to the checkered flag, and secured the 2026 Maquoketa Speedway championship.
The victory was Paris’ first of the season in the Razor Chassis North Central Region. Diercks finished second, Huenefeld was third, Cody Laney took fourth, and Jeff “Bone” Larson charged from 19th to complete the top five.
Huenefeld, from Freeport, Ill., made his first trip to Maquoketa Speedway victory lane in Friday’s 20-lap feature. Starting from the pole, Huenefeld turned back a talented field for his third Razor Chassis North Central Region victory of the season, with each coming at a different track.
Kollin Hibdon finished second, Chris Zogg was third, Diercks advanced from eighth to fourth, and Austin Stamm rounded out the top five.
Neal Takes Stock Car Thriller at the Stripe; Murty Returns to Victory Lane
Gage Neal and Damon Murty split the weekend’s Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature wins, with Neal providing a thrilling conclusion to Saturday’s 20-lapper.
Three- and four-wide battles were commonplace throughout the feature before Neal, from Anamosa, made a charge off the bottom of turn four coming to the checkered flag. The ninth-starting Neal edged David Brandies by approximately four feet for his second EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of 2026, with those wins coming at two different tracks.
Brandies settled for second, Jerry Miles was third, Justin Kay finished fourth, and Jordan Miles completed the top five.
Friday night belonged to Chelsea’s Murty, who started second and raced to his first EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season.
Jeff Larson followed Murty across the stripe in second, Tommy Fain was third, Ben Chapman finished fourth, and Joe Zrostlik was fifth.
Chapman Bests SportMod Field for Sixth Win of Season
Ben Chapman of Clarence prevailed over a stout field of 36 Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods in Friday night’s 20-lap feature.
Chapman started from the pole and raced to the checkered flag for his sixth victory of the season and his first at Maquoketa in 2026.
Dylan VanWyk charged from 10th to finish second, Cole Stichter was third, Tyler Nerud finished fourth, and Brady Hilmer completed the top five.
Vanous Collects $1,000 in Maquoketa Hobby Stock Finale
Brett Vanous of Quasqueton raced to a $1,000 payday in Saturday night’s 20-lap Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature.
Starting fifth in the 28-car field, Vanous worked his way to the front and took the checkered flag for his fifth B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region triumph of 2026 and his first at Maquoketa this season.
Kile Vohringer charged from 11th to finish second and Quinton Miller advanced from 12th to third. Reegan Merkes was fourth and Erick Knutsen completed the top five.
