JE Pistons continues popular built engine IMCA awards program

IRVINE, Calif. – Top five finishers in point standings for four IMCA divisions pay off again in 2017, courtesy of JE Pistons. The Irvine, Calif., manufacturer and seven-year IMCA sponsor has renewed a popular awards program for drivers competing with a built engine, giving nine sets of pistons and more than $9,000 in product certificates. Top eligible drivers in each of the five IMCA Modified regions and both IMCA Sunoco Stock Car regions, and national IMCA Late Model and IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car champions all receive pistons. Product certificates valued at $400, $300, $200 and $150, respectively, go to eligible second through fifth place drivers in regional Modified and Stock Car, and national Late Model and Sprint Car standings. Marriott takes Arizona IMCA Modified Tour finale, crown at Canyon Speedway Park

(Feb. 17) – Hunter Marriott claimed the inaugural Arizona IMCA Modified Tour championship in style Friday night as he topped a 29-car field to win the 25-lap series finale. Marriott drove his way from the fourth starting position to capture his first $1,250 feature win of the tour. He was already on the ballot for the upcoming Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. “I really liked the car. We had some good runs and we’ve been trying hard all week. The races and tracks have been tough but we prevailed on this one,” said Marriott in victory lane. “I’m just thankful to be here.” Marriott used the second attempt at a lap nine restart to drive around the outside of Curt Lund to take the lead down the back straightaway. (Feb. 16) – The outstanding parity of the inaugural Arizona IMCA Modified Tour continued Thursday at Canyon Speedway Park as Spencer Wilson became the fifth different winner in as many nights. Seventy-one IMCA Modifieds were checked in for the first of two nights at the Peoria, Ariz. one-third mile dirt oval. Wilson netted $1,250 for the victory along with spot on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. After getting by Ryan Roath on lap two, Wilson took command of the race lead and set sail. At the midpoint of the race, Wilson had amassed a three second advantage over second-running Jimmy Gustin and looked to have the race in hand. However, Wilson encountered heavy traffic in the latter stages of the race, which allowed Gustin to erase Wilson’s huge lead in a matter of a few laps. Tocci Cruises to Second Straight Modified Win at ECS

By Ben Deatherage GREAT FALLS, Mont. (May 3, 2025) — Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds took center stage at Electric City Speedway for a 20-lap main event. Kolby Hannah managed to outmaneuver Jordan Tocci to lead the opening circuit, but Tocci, the two-time reigning Gallatin Speedway champion from Three Forks, swiftly reclaimed the top spot on lap four. From there, Tocci began to pull away as Hannah and David Davis battled for second. A mid-race caution on lap 10 regrouped the field, but Tocci proved untouchable on the restart, driving away to secure his second straight victory at ECS and in the Shaw Race Cars Western Region. Hannah held on to finish second, while 2022 Region champion Ty Clemens charged from 11th to complete the podium in third. Bree Wonch Outduels Husband Austin for Memorable First Modified Victory

(May 3, 2025) — The Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at Crystal Motor Speedway delivered a career-defining moment for Lady Eagle racer Bree Wonch, who stormed to her first-ever victory in the DeVilbiss Racing Eastern Region. After a daring pass on the bottom of turn four on lap 4, she surged to the lead and began to distance herself from the field. Despite a mid-race caution erasing her substantial advantage, Wonch nailed the restart and once again pulled away. Behind her, husband Austin Wonch, the 2019 Crystal track champion, worked his way into second, setting up a family one-two finish that brought the Crystal crowd to its feet.
