JAMESTOWN, N.D. – The 46th annual Stock Car Stampede at Jamestown Speedway will be the first to feature both IMCA Modifieds and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods.
Modifieds race for $2,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start at the Friday and Saturday, Sept. 22 and 23 Stampede, along with a berth of the 2018 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. SportMods run for $1,000 to win and a minimum of $100 to start.
The Modified runner-up earns $1,500 with $1,000 paid for third. Drivers in both divisions earn Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and Allstar Performance State points; Modified drivers also get Side Biter Chassis North Central Region points.
Car and driver for Modifieds is $90 and for SportMods $75. Pit passes are $35 or $60 for both days.
Pit gates open at 10 a.m., the grandstand opens at 3 p.m. and racing begins at 7 p.m. on Friday. Gates open at noon, the grandstand opens at 2 p.m. and racing is at 5 p.m. Saturday.
Proceeds from the Calcutta auction, to be held during the Thursday night dance at the fairgrounds, will benefit the Anne Carlsen Center in Jamestown.
