Beatrice preps for July 29 Gage County Fair special

BEATRICE, Neb. – IMCA Modifieds race for $1,000 to win and a berth on the 2019 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot at Beatrice Speedway’s Sunday, July 29 Gage County Fair special. Completing the card are IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, all running for $500 to win, and Mach-1 Sport Compacts in a $250 to win feature. There is no entry fee for the draw/redraw show. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and Nebraska State, but no local track points will be awarded. Spectator admission is $10 for adults, $5 for kids ages 6-11 and free for five and under. Pit passes are $30. RH2 doubles IMCA awards program for 2018

RIVERSIDE, N.J. – Twice as many IMCA drivers are in line for post-season awards from RH2 when 2018 point standings become official. Marriott makes it two wins in three nights with BVR Arnold Motor Supply Dirt Knights checkers

ALTA, Iowa (July 25) – Wednesday’s night’s Arnold Motor Supply Dirt Knights Tour rubber match went to Hunter Marriott. Marriott led every lap from the pole in winning the IMCA Modified main event at Buena Vista Raceway. The $2,000 tour victory was his second in three days, the first coming Monday at Park Jefferson Speedway. Rain delays but can’t stop Cooney in Fayette County Deery Series quest

WEST UNION, Iowa (July 25) – Todd Cooney had his car loaded up and ready to go home, thinking the rain that delayed Wednesday’s Deery Brothers Summer Series program at Fayette County Speedway would ultimately lead to its cancellation. But the rain went away, the speedway crew got the oval back in prime shape and Cooney ultimately ended up going home with the IMCA Late Model tour victory and $2,000. After running everywhere from third to seventh, Cooney passed Justin Kay and leader Chad Holladay on the 31st of 40 circuits. He beat Kay to the checkers by about a car length for his career eighth Deery win. “We’d kind of been all over the place but I was able to get up to third before that last restart, get a run on the back stretch and get the lead,” said Cooney, who used the higher line to do so. “Any time you can beat Justin it’s a big thing and Chad has been running well, too. By Don Martin II WHITE CITY, Ore. (July 21) – Racing into the lead from the start, Zach Fettinger scored his third IMCA Modified main event win of the season Saturday at Southern Oregon Speedway. In the process, Fettinger became the first driver to win more than two features in one season in the division since 2015. After taking the lead from Jimmy Lipke following a lap four restart, Tyler Rodgers went on to win the 20 Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature. He is the sixth different winner in six races. This was the first appearance at White City by the Chico, Calif., visitor.

Kossuth County to Salute Home Town Heroes on Veterans Night

ALGONA, Iowa – Kossuth County Speedway’s salute to veterans on Home Town Heroes Night July 26 boasts $2,000 to win features for IMCA Modifieds, presented by Becks Hybrids, and for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, presented by Altenburg Construction/Slat Replacement Professionals. BRITT, Iowa (July 24) – There’s something about Hancock County Speedway that brings out the best in Kyle Strickler. Strickler led every lap in winning Tuesday’s Arnold Motor Supply Dirt Knights Tour feature for IMCA Modifieds, earning $2,000 along with a spot on the 2019 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot.
