Havens takes last-lap thriller at Stuart

STUART, Iowa (April 24) – Kody Havens’ patience set up the late-race heroics that ended with his Wednesday night Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod victory at Stuart Speedway.

Havens joined Brayton Carter in working toward the front and was up to third with two laps left. He made a move past Carter, and with the white flag out he set up a move going into turn three under Tyler Inman for the win. The two cars made contact, but Havens was able to gather it up and made it back to the line first to take the victory.

Josh Gilman was the IMCA Modified winner and Buck Schafroth led the last five laps in taking the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car checkers.

Corey Madden prevailed in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock main while Denny Berghan Jr. returned to victory lane following the Mach-1 Sport Compact feature.

Morris gets first feature win at Stuart

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (June 23) – Bryan Morris made his way to victory lane following his first Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod win Wednesday at Stuart Speedway. The Northern SportMods were first up with Blair Simmons and Morris on the front row. Morris took charge early with Dusty Masolini and Cam Reimers in tow. A caution with nine laps down bunched the field but Morris was too strong as he went on to the win, his first ever in the division. Second was Masolini, Brayton Carter third, Reimers fourth and Colton Nelson fifth. Next up were the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars with Zac Johnson and Miciah Hidlebaugh leading the field to the green flag. Brock Badger shot into the lead early with Hidlebaugh and Brandon Pruitt battling hard for second. Pruitt took second just before a yellow came out on lap nine and Badger continued in the lead as Damon Murty charged into second with two laps to go. IMCA Midwest Madness Tour primed for June 27-July 1 run

JEFFERSON, S.D. – IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars headline each night of the upcoming Midwest Madness Tour presented by Western Iowa Racing Results. Both divisions race for $1,000 to win, with Modified features being qualifiers for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot and Stock Car features for the B & B chassis All-Star event, on Sunday, June 27 at Raceway Park in Jefferson, S.D; Monday, June 28 at Park Jefferson Speedway in Jefferson, S.D.; Tuesday, June 29 at Clay County Fair Speedway in Spencer, Iowa; Wednesday, June 30 at Buena Vista Raceway in Alta, Iowa; and Thursday, July 1 at Stuart, Iowa, Speedway. Minimum start money is $150 for the Modifieds and $125 for the Stocks. Modified and Stock Car drivers must compete in at least four of the five events to be eligible for point funds to be paid to top five in points. Berry continues hot streak at Stuart

By Josh Reynolds  STUART, Iowa (Aug. 19) – Hall of Fame Night saw Tom Berry Jr. end the Wednesday night race program at Stuart Speedway in victory lane. Scott Bash and Kollin Hibdon showed the way early. Hibdon led until lap 18 when Berry came knocking. Berry threaded the needle between Hibdon and a lapped car to take over the top spot and went on to take the win.  Hibdon finished second with Josh Gilman third. Dallon Murty was the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car winner while Brandon Cox worked his way to the front and held off a charge from Dylan Nelson to take the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock checkers. Brayton Carter prevailed in a two-lap Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod shootout with Brian Osan­towski. Mitchell Bunch shot to the front on the first lap and drove off to the Mach-1 Sport Compact win.
