Salina’s Mid-America Clash features five IMCA divisions Sept. 24, 25

SALINA, Kan. – Salina Speedway’s ninth annual Mid-America Clash sees five IMCA divisions in action Friday, Sept. 24 and Saturday, Sept. 25. Presented by Briney Motorsports, the Clash features IMCA Modifieds in $1,500 to win main events both nights while IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars run for $1,000 to win, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks both for $750 to win and Mach-1 Sport Compacts for $325 to win. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and KMJ Performance State points will be given for each draw/redraw show. Minimum start money is $125 for the Modifieds, $100 for the Stock Cars, $75 for the SportMods and Hobbies and $60 for Sport Compacts. Winning Sunday IMCA Stock Car feature is worth $1,000 at Worthington Speedway

WORTHINGTON, Minn. – A $1,000 to win, B & B Chassis All-Star Invitational qualifying event is on the ticket this Sunday at Worthington Speedway. Sponsor for the Stock Car race is Medieval Chassis. Mike Smith continues family tradition in becoming IMCA Super Nationals champion

BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 11) – Another Smith, another IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s championship. Seventeen-year-old Mike Smith of Lake City became the first of the next generation of IMCA’s most successful racing family to become an IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s champion, winning the Saturday night Hobby Stock main event and $2,000 at Boone Speedway. “It’s pretty cool. BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 11) – The Northern SportMod Austen Becerra built in his garage back home in Carthage, Ill., put him in victory lane twice over the course of six days at Boone Speedway. The first occasion followed the Prelude feature on Sept. 5. GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Three IMCA divisions join the season championship night show Friday at River Cities Speedway. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks are on the Sept. 17 card on the high-banked clay oval at Grand Forks. Stocks race for $325 to win, SportMods for $300 to win and Hobbies for $150 to win. Also at stake are IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and KMJ Performance State points. Gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m. Pit passes are $30. Zemo makes mark at East Moline STARS Mod Lite special

As he rocketed around the top groove of East Moline Speedway, Mike Zemo, Jr. knew the work he and his crew put into the Sidewinder Chassis all year paid off. The Davenport, Iowa ace passed early leader Randy Bryan, Ames, Iowa, early and zipped to the IMCA STARS Mod Lite 25-lap special win and took home $1,000. It was also win number eight at EMS against increased competition on this night. “I was a little worried,” Zemo said in the winner’s circle. “I just knew the outside would be pretty good for me. Kay defends Lee County Drive For 5 finale title

By Brian Neal DONNELLSON, Iowa (Sept. 11) – The Iowa Corn Growers Association Drive For 5 finale for IMCA Sunoco Late Models took place Sept. 11 at Lee County Speedway. This is the second year for this mini-series to be held, with defending race winner Justin Kay claiming the checkered flag in the 50-lap feature. Kay and Darin Duffy earned front row starts. Kay took advantage of his starting spot and jumped out into the early lead over Duffy and Matt Ryan. While Kay paced the field out front, Duffy, Ryan and Tommy Elston, who started fifth, battled for the runner-up spot. Action was slowed on lap nine for back-to-back cautions. The second restart saw Kay back out front with Elston overtaking Duffy for second. Two more quick cautions followed, with Kay staying in the lead and Duffy getting second back from Elston. IMCA STARS Mod Lite winner of Lakeside’s Rage on the River earns $1K

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The winner of Lakeside Speedway’s inaugural IMCA STARS Mod Lite Rage on the River special takes home $1,000. The Friday, Sept. 24 main event pays a minimum of $150 to start and $75 to non-qualifiers. Yoshimura bonuses of $250, $150 and $100 will be paid to top three finishers and the hard charger receives a Hoosier tire certificate. 2021 IMCA point season ends on Sunday, Sept. 26

VINTON, Iowa – The 2021 IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing point season will end on Sunday, Sept. 26. Final points races will be held that day for sanctioned Modifieds, Late Models, Sprint Cars, Stock Cars, STARS Mod Lites, Hobby Stocks, Northern SportMods, Southern SportMods and Sport Compacts. Bonus points will be figured and national and regional champions and rookies of the year, as well as the Junior National Champion and Lady Eagle winner, announced as soon as possible. Local track officials have until noon Central Standard Time on Monday, Oct. 25 to notify IMCA of corrections that affect their top 15 point standings before 2021 standings become official.
