August Specials Bring Big Purses and All-Star Qualifiers to Maquoketa Speedway

MAQUOKETA, Iowa (Aug. 3, 2026) — Two major August specials are on tap at Maquoketa Speedway, with Dynamic Tube Season Championship Night on Aug. 15 and a two-night special on Aug. 21-22 offering increased purses and All-Star qualifying opportunities.

The action begins Saturday, Aug. 15, with Dynamic Tube Season Championship Night. Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds, Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, and Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods will each race for $1,000 to win, while Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks and Legends compete for $500 to win. Sunoco IMCA Late Models round out the program with Sunoco Bonus Bucks on the line.

Speedway Motors IMCA Weekly Racing National, Iowa State, and track points will be awarded. Modifieds will also compete for Razor Chassis North Central Region points, Stock Cars for EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region points, and Hobby Stocks for B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region points. Standard weekly draw/invert procedures will be used.

The following weekend, Maquoketa Speedway hosts a two-night special on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 21-22.

Friday’s program features $1,000-to-win Modifieds and Stock Cars, with SportMods joining the racing card.

Saturday’s finale increases the payoff to $1,500 to win for both the Modifieds and Stock Cars, while Hobby Stocks complete the weekend lineup.

The three Modified and Stock Car features serve as qualifying events for the 2026 Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational and B&B Racing Chassis All-Star Stock Car Invitational. Feature winners will earn eligibility to attempt to qualify for their respective invitationals during the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s in September.

The two-night special will utilize a draw/redraw format. Speedway Motors IMCA Weekly Racing National, Iowa State, and regional points will be awarded in all IMCA divisions, while track points will not.

Maquoketa Speedway falls to severe storm threats

By Jerry Mackey MAQUOKETA, Iowa (April 27, 2024) – The 2024 Maquoketa Speedway season opener scheduled for April 27 was postponed due to impending severe weather slated to move into the Jackson County area late on Saturday afternoon.  Maquoketa Speedway will now be slated to see the IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing season opener on Saturday, May 4. IMCA Sunoco Late Models will headline the racing program which will also include Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. Neal honors Soldiers and Sailors Night with Maquoketa win

In the lineup chute, they scan every competitor wondering if one will continue the streak. Gage Neal made sure of that Saturday evening. The Ely ace is no stranger to victory lane, but made it to Maquoketa’s for the first time in 2018. He became the fifth different winner in five races on the 3/8-mile dirt oval. Richards Scores $1,000 Stock Car Win At Maquoketa

By Jerry Mackey MAQUOKETA, Iowa (May 17, 2025) — The headliner of the night’s action at Maquoketa Speedway was the 20-lap Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature, a qualifier for the B&B Racing Chassis All-Star Stock Car Invitational. Thanks to Colton and Danielle Dirks, the Stock Cars raced for a $1,000 top prize, attracting 29 entries that included some of the best in the business. The feature took the green with Montello, Wisconsin’s Kenny Richards establishing himself early as the man to beat. Richards made the three-and-a-half-hour haul to Maquoketa pay off in a big way, pocketing the $1,000 payday. He was challenged early by Kaden Reynolds before Indiana’s Sheldon Oberle took over second and began closing in. Dallon Murty made a strong charge from the fifth row, battling for the lead in the closing laps.
