Belcher Captures Fourth Annual KC Cole Memorial at Penn Can Speedway

(July 25, 2025) — It had been five years since the Close Racing Supply NY/Penn IMCA Modified Series presented by Insinger Performance last visited Outlaw Speedway, but Rodney Morgan made sure the wait was worth it. Morgan earned his first DeVilbiss Racing Eastern Region victory of 2025 with a commanding performance in Friday night’s 25-lap main event. A stout field of 22 Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds filled the pit area for the long-awaited return to the “Baddest Dirt Track on the Planet.” Brad Delamater took the initial lead from the pole and paced the first six laps. A lap four caution for Matt Roberts bunched the field after Roberts made contact with the backstretch wall in a wild three-wide battle for third. On the restart, Morgan found his line and charged past Delamater on lap seven. From there, he set sail, leading the rest of the way to claim the $1,510.10 payday. Keith Lamphere and Tyler Belcher completed the podium in second and third, respectively.

By Ben Deatherage VINTON, Iowa (May 12, 2026) — The Close Racing Supply NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series is set to launch its 2026 campaign this Sunday, May 17, with the Icebreaker 26 at Penn Can Speedway. The Susquehanna, Pennsylvania oval will host the season opener for the regional Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified tour, with drivers racing for $1,026 to win and $126 to start the feature, presented by NEP Telephone Company. The event will also serve as a Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational qualifier for the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s in September at Boone Speedway. Pennsylvania State, Close Racing Supply Eastern Region, and national points will all be awarded. Front gates will open at 2:00 p.m., followed by the pit meeting at 4:15, hot laps at 4:30, and racing at 5:00. CORTLAND, N.Y. (Sept. 20-21, 2024) – Going into the two night Turbo Blue Weekend at Skyline Motorsports Park, Rodney Morgan was second in points in the Close Racing Supply NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series standings with two wins on the season. At the end of the second night of racing, he had doubled his win total and was not only the points leader but his two feature wins clinched the title of the 2024 series for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds. Morgan also becomes the first driver to have two championships in the four-year history ofthe series. Prior to this weekend’s racing, Morgan trailed Keith Lamphere by 15 points, but Lamphere became a new father this weekend and did not make the trip north.
