Black Dirt Nationals Return to Hancock County Speedway During Hancock County Fair on July 28

BRITT, Iowa (July 24, 2026) — One of the signature events of the Hancock County Fair returns Tuesday, July 28, as the Black Dirt Nationals brings a full night of IMCA racing to Hancock County Speedway.

Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds and Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars each race for $1,000 to win, while Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods compete for $600 to win, and Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks battle for a $500 winner’s share.

The Modified feature is a Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational qualifying event, with the winner earning eligibility to attempt to qualify for the invitational, held during the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s in September. The Stock Car feature is a B&B Racing Chassis All-Star Stock Car Invitational qualifying event, with the winner earning eligibility to attempt to qualify for the invitational, also held during Super Nationals in September.

Speedway Motors IMCA Weekly Racing National, regional, and Iowa State points will be awarded in all IMCA divisions. Modifieds compete for Razor Chassis North Central Region points, Stock Cars race for EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region points, and Hobby Stocks compete for B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region points.

The format for the night will be draw/redraw.

Held during the annual Hancock County Fair, the event combines an evening of championship-caliber racing with one of north Iowa’s premier summer celebrations. Fans can enjoy everything the fair has to offer before settling in for a night of side-by-side action on the famed black dirt.

The evening will also feature a candy toss for young fans during intermission, courtesy of 3D Trophy and Awards.

Pit meeting and driver check-in are scheduled for 6:45 p.m., with hot laps at 7 p.m., and racing immediately following.

Grandstand admission is $15 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-16, and free for children 5 and under. Pit passes are $35 for adults (11 and older), and $15 for children ages 6-10.

$2,500 is top check at Hancock County’s Maxyield SportMod Nationals

BRITT, Iowa – There’s a $2,500 check waiting for the winner of Hancock County Speedway’s Tuesday, June 16 Maxyield Cooperative SportMod Nationals. The MaxYield Seed-sponsored special for IMCA Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods pays a minimum of $300 to start. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and Iowa State, but no track points will be awarded. Entry fee is $75 and drivers can register on MyRacePass. Pit gates open at 5 p.m., the grandstand opens at 6 p.m. and racing follows 7 p.m. hot laps. Spectator admission is $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. Kids 12 and under get in free. Pit passes are $30. Also running that evening at Britt are IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Mach-1 Sport Compacts, for national, regional and state points. Gustin wins, Hibdon impresses in Britt Arnold Motor Supply Dirt Knights feature

BRITT, Iowa (July 23) – Richie Gustin equaled an Arnold Motor Supply Dirt Knights Tour record with his third straight victory Tuesday at Hancock County Speedway. Kollin Hibdon, meanwhile, turned heads with his runner-up finish in the IMCA Modified headliner at Britt. Gustin passed travel partner and race-long leader Hibdon on the 26th circuit, then led the last five laps to take the $1,500 checkers ahead of the youngster from Nevada, Jeremy Mills, Kyle Brown and Travis Hatcher. Hibdon had started from the pole, Gustin from inside row two. The front pair were five seconds ahead of their nearest pursuit by lap 10. Gustin used the middle line to take the lead in traffic and pulled away for his tour career-leading 11th win. Cordes, Mackenthun, Fett, Nielsen score Friday wins at Britt

By Chad Meyer BRITT, Iowa (May 3, 2024) – Hancock County Speedway in Britt and new track manager Darin Toot lifted the lid on the 2024 IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing season Friday night. After a soggy start to the week, sunny skies greeted drivers and fans on Britt’s Main Street for Race Day on Main, with the race night sponsored by Mr. K’s Bar and Grill. Off season efforts to improve the racing surface at Britt paid off, with each main event featuring close competition and two, three and sometimes four-wide battles. Jacob Dahle led early in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature with Troy Cordes closing quickly. When Dahle made contact with a lapped car, that opened the door for Cordes to make his move. Industry Leaders Fill Speedway Motors Manufacturer’s Row for 2026 Super Nationals

Tyler Easterday: Twenty-One Years of Perseverance Rewarded

By Ben Deatherage LEXINGTON, Neb. — Twenty-one years is a long time to chase a dream. For Tyler Easterday, that dream finally became reality on the evening of June 21 at Dawson County Raceway. After more than two decades of determination, heartbreak, rebuilding, and countless laps around dirt tracks across Nebraska, the Lexington racer finally earned his first Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature victory. As he crossed beneath the checkered flag, the celebration he’d imagined for years began. Then the rain started falling. For many, it would have simply been an approaching summer shower.
