COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa (June 26, 2026) — Racing returned to CJ Speedway on Friday night after two consecutive rainouts, and fans were rewarded with an exciting evening of Speedway Motors IMCA Weekly on the high-banked 4/10-mile oval.

Logan Anderson earned his first Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified victory of the season by working past early leader Brandon Banks in a feature filled with slide jobs.

The Eddyville driver, who started fourth, used several well-timed crossover moves to wrestle away the lead before pulling away to collect his first Razor Chassis North Central Region win of 2026.

Banks held on for second while eighth-starting Dan Brockert completed the podium. Blaine Webster finished fourth and Adam Shelman rounded out the top five.

Wood Charges From Ninth for Seventh Stock Car Win

Nathan Wood continued his torrid pace in the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, charging from ninth starting position to score his seventh EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season.

The Sigourney driver sliced through heavy traffic before taking command of the feature and driving away for his sixth victory of the year at CJ Speedway. Dustin Griffiths also made an impressive charge from eighth to finish second, while Austin O’Donnell crossed the stripe in third. Kirk Kinsley and Jesse Anderson completed the top five.

VanDerWal Prevails in SportMod Slide-Job Showcase

Cole VanDerWal emerged victorious in a thrilling Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMod feature that featured slide jobs throughout the field.

Levi Laymon led the opening laps before 10th-starting Tyler Heckart raced to the front. Heckart’s stay atop the leaderboard was brief, however, as eighth-starting VanDerWal completed the winning pass and never looked back.

The Oskaloosa driver earned his third victory of the season, with all three coming at CJ Speedway. Heckart finished second ahead of Colton Laymon, Justin Heuer and Levi Laymon. Colton Zaputil turned in one of the night’s best drives, advancing from 22nd to sixth.

Weepie Holds Off Wood for Hobby Stock Triumph

Dalton Weepie capitalized on an early mistake by leader Garrett Porter before fending off repeated challenges from Brayden Wood to win the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature.

The Dunkerton driver, who started third, collected his fourth B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region victory of the season, with two of those wins coming at CJ Speedway.

Wood settled for second while Kyler Burmeister finished third. Luke Phillips and Billy Stanford rounded out the top five.
