ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. (June 16, 2026) — Sweetwater Speedway will host one of the biggest racing weekends in Wyoming on July 3-4 with the annual Ken Hansen Memorial Modified Spectacular.
The two-day event will feature two complete draw/re-draw programs, with competitors racing each night for Speedway Motors IMCA Weekly Racing National, Wyoming State, and regional points.
Modified competitors will race for DeVilbiss Racing Chassis Western Region points, Stock Cars for EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region points, and Hobby Stocks for B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region points.
Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds headline the weekend with a $1,000 winner’s share each night. Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods will each race for $400 to win, while Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks and Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts compete for $300 top prizes.
The Ken Hansen Memorial Modified Spectacular will also serve as a Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational qualifier each night. Drivers who win either of the two Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified features will earn eligibility to try and qualify for the 2026 Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational, to be held during the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.
A special tribute to Ken Hansen is planned for July 3. Proceeds from the evening’s 50/50 drawing will benefit the Ken Hansen Memorial Fund. Hansen’s wife, Shelley, along with sons Chase and Dustin, are expected to be in attendance.
Pit gates will open at 2:00 p.m. both days, with grandstands opening at 4:30. Go-kart racing begins at 5:00 p.m., followed by the IMCA racing program at 7:15 p.m.
Entry fees are $75 for Modifieds, $60 for Stock Cars and Northern SportMods, $55 for Hobby Stocks, and $50 for Sport Compacts. Pit passes are $25 for adults and $15 for children ages 3-12.
Grandstand admission is $15 for adults ages 18-59, $10 for teens ages 13-17, military personnel, and seniors 60 and older, while children 12 and under are admitted free.
