Weaver Wins Commonwealth Clash AST Feature at Lernerville; Kornbau Secures AST Championship

SARVER, Pa. (Sept. 12, 2025) — The Friday portion of the Commonwealth Clash at Lernerville Speedway featured the Allegheny Sprint Tour and attracted 20 RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car competitors to the Sarver oval.

Kasey Weaver of Everett, Pa., led from the pole and never looked back, scoring his first career AST victory at Lernerville. Meanwhile, Hermitage’s Jeremy Kornbau wrapped up his first-ever Allegheny Sprint Tour championship.

Weaver lined up on the inside front row, alongside second-year driver Hunter Hite. Weaver jumped out to the lead at the drop of the green, while Hite slipped back as Roman Jones moved into second. Trouble struck early when Timmy Bittner slowed on the backstretch and retired from the event.

By mid-race, Weaver and Jones traded momentum at the front, with Jones inching ahead before Weaver powered back around on the outside to retake command. Behind them, the action heated up as Hite dropped to sixth, Steven Kenawell Jr. grabbed third, Kornbau advanced to fourth, and Jeff Weaver Jr. settled into fifth.

The race was slowed on lap 13 when Greg Dobrosky looped it in turn four. On the restart, Kornbau ducked under Kenawell Jr. to take over third and soon began pressuring Jones for second. Another caution with three laps to go bunched the field for the final dash to the checkers.

On the restart, Weaver again held firm out front, while Kornbau slipped past Jones into second. Jones briefly reclaimed the spot in turn two, only for Kornbau to snatch it right back at the flag stand. Weaver drove away over the final circuits to score his first AST win at Lernerville, with Kornbau second and securing the tour championship. Jones, Kenawell Jr., and Jeff Weaver Jr. completed the top five.

Invader Bittner Wins AST Feature at Lernerville

(Jul. 6, 2025) — Sunshine and sprint cars returned to Lernerville Speedway as the Allegheny Sprint Tour, presented by Renewal by Andersen, was on hand at the 4/10-mile Sarver oval Sunday night. Timmy Bittner of Beech Creek took full advantage, racing to his second AST victory of 2025 and fourth overall win of the season. Bittner started sixth and wasted little time getting to the front, taking over the lead on lap five of the 20-lap contest. Greg Dobroski finished second, with Jacob Gomola third, Jeremy Kornbau fourth, and Jarrett Cavalet rounding out the top five. The Twenty5 Supply Hard Charger Award went to Chris Doland, who gained ten positions in the feature. Additional purse money—donated by Michael’s Mercer Raceway—was awarded from fifth position on back. A strong field of 22 teams from three states and three RaceSaver IMCA-sanctioned touring series checked in.

Allegheny Sprint Tour Added to First Night of Commonwealth Clash at Lernerville on Sept. 12

Johnson GUYS MILLS, Pa, (Aug. 2, 2025) — The Allegheny Sprint Tour, presented by Renewal by Andersen Replacement Doors and Windows, has been added to night one of the Commonwealth Clash on Friday, September 12, at the Lernerville Speedway. “AST is excited to have been added to the Commonwealth Clash,” AST Director Jacob Gomola said. “Thank you to Greg Geible and the Tomson family for including us in the first night of the Commonwealth Clash.” The Top 25 teams in Allegheny Sprint Tour points will be invited to Night 1 of the Commonwealth Clash. Kornbau Wins Sprint Spectacular AST Feature at Lernerville

(Aug. 23, 2025) — The Peluso Roofing Sprint Spectacular at Lernerville Speedway, featuring the Allegheny Sprint Tour presented by Renewal by Andersen Replacement Doors and Windows, brought together seventeen IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars from across the region. The stacked field included three of the top-five in Pennsylvania state points: Timmy Bittner (second), Jarrett Cavalet (third), and Jeffery Weaver Jr. (fifth). AST regular Jacob Gomola (eleventh in points) and Jim Pattock (nineteenth) were also in the mix. The twenty-lap feature lined up with Hunter Hite on the pole and PASS standout Steve Kenawell Jr. alongside. Heavy hitters filled the next two rows, including Weaver Jr. and Jeremy Kornbau in row two, with Vivian Jones and Gomola in row three. “Kruz Missile” Kepner Hits Target with PASS Victory at Selinsgrove

(Sept. 13, 2025) — Kruz Kepner doesn’t have much time to think about anything during the 10-minute ride from his home in Kreamer, Pa., to Selinsgrove Speedway, but he had a full week to think about being wrecked twice on the opening lap last weekend and wanting to erase the memory of that awful pair of races. His thinking — and his driving — did the job. Humblet Holds Off Hubbard in Virginia Sprint Series Thriller

(Sept. 13, 2025) — Chris Humblet made changes after his heat race that proved to be the right ones, as he flew to the win at Langley Speedway with the Virginia Sprint Series. Jerald Harris and Humblet paced the field to green, with Humblet jumping out first and Harris settling into second as Billy Hubbard quickly moved into third. Humblet stayed strong out front while Harris struggled with his tire choice, allowing Hubbard to get by and set his sights on the leader. As the laps clicked off quickly on the pavement, Humblet began working traffic, and with five to go, Hubbard had closed right in. With two laps left, Hubbard made a strong charge and got within a couple of car lengths, but that was as close as he would come. Humblet flashed under the waving checkered flag for his second win of the season at Langley, with Hubbard second and Matthew Leach third.
