Oktoberfest Returns to Dacotah Speedway September 26-27

MANDAN, N.D. (Aug. 21, 2025) – The tradition of fall racing at Dacotah Speedway continues with Oktoberfest presented by TransTrash, set for Friday and Saturday, September 26-27.

The two-day special will once again feature the same format as last year, with heats and Dash for Cash races on Friday night and ‘B’ mains and championship features on Saturday night. Four IMCA divisions will headline the program, each racing for a $1,000 top prize: Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, Karl Chevrolet IMCA SportMods, and Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks.

Friday’s program begins with the pit gate opening at 5:00 p.m. and grandstands at 6:00 p.m. Draw cutoff is 6:15 p.m., with racing beginning at 7:00 p.m. Drivers unable to make it to the track Friday but planning to race Saturday must check in on Friday by messaging the Dacotah Speedway Facebook page or by contacting Becca Pelkey directly. All drivers must check in on Friday to be eligible for Saturday competition – no exceptions. Passing points will determine transfers into the Dash for Cash and features, with Dash for Cash finishes setting the starting lineups for Saturday’s main events.

On Saturday, pit gates open at 4:00 p.m., grandstands at 5:00 p.m., and racing takes the green at 6:00 p.m. Grandstand admission is $22 for adults, $5 for students, and free for children 12 and under. Pit fees are $30 per day.

For fans unable to attend in person, the entire weekend will be broadcast live on IMCA TV affiliate Dacotah Speedway TV.

Seidler, Sandberg celebrate on Anniversary Night at Mandan

MANDAN, N.D. (Aug. 14) – Dacotah Speedway celebrated its 30th anniversary and Marlyn Seid­ler and Ken Sandberg celebrated IMCA feature wins Friday night.  Crist Pittenger passed pole sitter Tony Marsh for the lead in the IMCA Modified feature, then was pressured by Scott Gartner and Seidler. Gartner briefly took the lead on lap seven but that was short-lived as Seidler slipped by to take the lead on lap 11.  Gartner then started to fade through the field, losing positions to Spencer Wilson, Shawn Strand and Travis Olheiser. Strand passed Wilson who then fell into the clutches of Olheiser. Making a late-race pass, Rusty Kollman finished fifth behind Wilson. Ohleiser finished third while Strand finished a distant second. Dacotah Speedway checkers to Seidler

By Rebecca Rattei MANDAN, N.D. (May 19, 2023) – Veteran Marlyn Seidler was the winner Friday night in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at Dacotah Speedway. Scott Gartner led from the pole in the main event and pulled away as the racing was heating up behind him between Travis Tooley, Quentin Kinzley, Mark Dahl and Jason Wolla. Drivers were slicing and dicing for position as the track was wide and racy. A mid-race caution erased Gartner’s large lead over the field. On the restart, Gartner, Kinzley and Dahl raced three-wide for the lead as Tooley, Wolla and Seidler raced three wide for fourth.  Seidler, who started ninth, shuffled into the fourth position and wasted no time tracking down the leaders.
