ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 19, 2025) — A first lap yellow flag during the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature didn’t set the pace very well for the night. Dan Scharpe had troubles when his rear end locked up, sending him to the pit area for the night. Taylor Manderfield led the first four laps of the race before another yellow flew after contact between Ben Davis and Chad Volk.
Both drivers were able to resume, but Davis restarted at the tail. That gave Cory Probst the opportunity he needed to get around both Manderfield and Blake Luinenburg to take the lead. Yet another yellow came out when R.J. Esquada’s hood blew off while running second, forcing him to retire.
The restart opened the door for Luinenburg to challenge for the lead, but he and Probst battled to the finish with Probst coming out on top. Luinenburg was second and Volk raced his way back to third. Probst now owns 22 wins in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region, five of which have come at the Arlington ½-mile oval.
Hartmann Holds On for Sport Compact Score
The Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature saw Alan Lahr lead early until a series of flat tires sent drivers to the work area. First, Dale Gatton suffered a flat right front tire, then Gary Schumacher and Emily Senne sustained front-end damage and exited on lap four. That allowed Brandon Hartmann to take over and remain out front to score the win ahead of Lahr and Justin Dose. It was Hartmann’s second win of 2025 and his first at Arlington this season.
Enter Charges Late in SportMod Showdown
Jeff Carter was confident at the start of the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod feature, taking the lead right away in a caution-free race. On lap 12, he got a little too high in the corner, allowing hard-charging Broddy Enter to slip by. Carter tried to reel him back in but had to settle for second at the checkers. Joey Reimers took third. The victory marked Enter’s third at Arlington this season and seventh overall.
Allen Rockets to Sprint Car Victory
The RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car main event saw two different leaders. Matt Hasara led early until Brett Allen caught him on lap seven and powered into the lead one lap later in turns one and two. A yellow came out on lap 13 when Justin Allen spun in turn four. On the restart, Allen pulled away and led the remainder of the race to pick up his third win of the year, two of which have come at Arlington. Hasara finished second, and Jeremy Schultz was third.
Lund Awarded Stock Car Win
The Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature did not disappoint. A first lap yellow was thrown when Chris Neisen and Jed Trebelhorn got hooked together, putting both cars out of the race. Once green again, Dan Menk paced the field for all 20 laps. Behind him, Dakota Robinson, Curt Lund, and Dan Mackenthun traded positions in a spirited battle. Lund, with the fastest car on the track, crossed the line second, followed by Mackenthun.
However, in post-race tech, Menk’s car was docked two spots for a wheelbase violation, awarding the win to Curt Lund. It was Lund’s third EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region win of the season and second at Arlington. Mackenthun was credited with second.
Loverude Lights It Up in the Modifieds
Trent Loverude completed the program with a flag-to-flag victory in the caution-free Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature. Clint Hatlestad followed him the entire distance but could never mount a serious challenge and settled for second. Todd Stinehart was third. Loverude now has five wins in the Razor Chassis North Central Region this season, four of them at Arlington.
