WaKEENEY, Kan. (Jul. 10, 2025)  Kyle Pfeifer earned his third EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature win of the season at WaKeeney Speedway in thrilling fashion, edging Jason Rogers at the line in a dramatic finish. Pfeifer, who previously won at Colby and Hays, worked the bottom groove to perfection as he and Rogers went side-by-side in the closing laps of the 20-lap main.

Troy Burkhart led early until slipping high and falling from contention. Rogers and Brett Berry swapped the lead before Berry encountered issues. Pfeifer pounced, powered low, and beat Rogers by inches.

Finishing behind Pfeifer and Rogers was Tathan Burkhart.

Connor Schwien Holds Off Compact Field

Connor Schwien put on a clinic in the 12-lap Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact main, leading every lap for his fourth win of the year. He got the jump from the pole and never looked back as attrition thinned the field behind him.

Kyle Mortensen finished second, followed by Kaishen Brack—who gained two positions for hard charger honors.

Barnhart Collects SportMod Win

Josh Barnhart made it look easy with a wire-to-wire win in the 20-lap Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod feature. Already a three-time winner in Colby, Barnhart added another to his résumé at WaKeeney.

Despite early cautions and pressure from hard-charging Cody Gearhart, Barnhart remained composed and strong up front. Gearhart climbed nine positions to finish second and earn hard charger. Dylan Jacobson ran third.

Richards Outduels Stacked Hobby Field

Dillon Richards captured his 31st win of the season—23 of which have come in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region—after a chaotic and thrilling 20-lap Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature. He and Zach Olmstead traded massive slide jobs, racing inches apart for the lead in the closing circuits.

Olmstead led much of the middle portion until late cautions and a determined charge from Richards shuffled the front. Richards threw a slider in turn four, made the crossover work on the final lap, and held on for the $1,400 victory.

Cody Williams slipped into second on the final corner. Olmstead took third.

Gottschalk Collects Another Modified Win

Daniel Gottschalk bagged his fourth Friesen Performance IMCA Modified win of the season in the Jet Racing Central Region—and third at WaKeeney—with a dominating performance. After grabbing the lead on lap one, Gottschalk fended off all challengers, including Clay Sellard and Jeremy Frenier.

A late caution after Clay Money spun following contact bunched up the field, but Gottschalk nailed the restart and never looked back. Sellard was second, followed by Dylan Sherfick.

The event was broadcast live on IMCA TV. Catch every lap again with the IMCA TV Replay Subscription, available for just $24.99/month. And don’t miss Season 2 of the Boone Docuseries, now streaming exclusively on IMCA TV.
