COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa (June 27, 2025) — After two straight rainouts, CJ Speedway came back in full force Friday night on the 4/10-mile dirt track at the Louisa County Fairgrounds. The night’s most emotional victory came in the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock main event, where Kyler Burmeister raced to his first-ever feature win. Burmeister inherited the lead after a caution involving the front runners and held off a tight pack to claim the win in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region. Keaton Gordon crossed the line second, with Jason Schutterle completing the podium.
Oliver Continues Stock Car Domination
John Oliver Jr. continued his pursuit of the IMCA Stock Car National title with another dominant performance. Starting deep in the field, Oliver worked his way past early leader Luke Phillips and went on to secure his eighth win of the season in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region and second at CJ in 2025. Dustin Griffiths, who suffered a flat tire on the opening lap, made an impressive comeback to finish second, while Adam Bell secured third.
Van Wyk Extends CJ SportMod Streak to Five
Dylan Van Wyk’s grip on the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod division at CJ remained firm as he powered to his fifth straight win at the speedway. With a $350 bounty already placed on his head, Van Wyk wasted no time getting to the front, charging from ninth to the lead by lap two. He went on to collect his 13th win of the season overall. Levi Laymon finished second, and Trey Rock put together a strong effort to take third. The bounty will increase to $450 next week as challengers continue to line up.
Foster Earns First Modified Win of 2025
The Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature went to Josh Foster, a less frequent visitor to CJ Speedway. Foster started on the front row and led every lap en route to his first win of the 2025 season in the Razor Chassis North Central Region. Logan Anderson ran second while Kurt Kile claimed third.
