ALGONA, Iowa (May 15, 2025) — Nick Meyer executed a last-lap pass to capture a thrilling Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at Kossuth County Speedway, earning his first win of the season in the Razor Chassis North Central Region. Meyer patiently worked his way to the front, gradually closing in on leader Todd Stinehart over the final laps.
Stinehart, who had led from the drop of the green, bobbled coming out of turn four on the final circuit, opening the door for Meyer to slip underneath and steal the victory by half a car length at the flag stand. Stinehart settled for second, while last week’s winner, Jeremy Mills finished third.
Albertsen Bests Shryock Late in Thrilling Stock Car Finish
The 20-lap Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature saw Chad Palmer take the early lead only to see Kelly Shryock become the new leader on the third lap. Shryock held the lead as Mike Albertsen and Palmer put on quite a show behind Shryock in a heated battle for second place, with Albertsen eventually taking the second spot with five laps to go.
Albertsen gradually closed the gap on Shryock, eventually zipping past the veteran Fertile driver with two laps remaining after Shryock bobbled coming out of turn two. Albertsen held on for the feature win — his fourth of the season and his second in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region. Shryock was the runner-up as Palmer took third.

Simpson Leads Every Lap for SportMod Victory
Jake Simpson led all 15 laps to claim victory in the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods feature race, but it wasn’t without a challenge. Simpson had to survive a yellow flag on lap seven and a hard-charging Matthew Looft.
The race saw a very entertaining battle for the runner-up spot between Alec Fett, Jake Sachau, George Nordman, and Looft. Looft ended up winning that battle to take second with Fett third.

Nielsen Races to First Hobby Stock Win of 2025
For the second straight week, the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock class had the highest car count of all the Speedway Motors IMCA Weekly divisions. Jay Sidles grabbed the early lead in the 15-lap feature, but Steve Wickman took over the top spot on the third lap. The race for the lead went four-wide at the halfway point of the race as Brandon Nielsen became the new leader and led the final eight laps for the feature win, his first in 2025 in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region.
Josh Sidles secured second, with Chris Krug finishing third, Steve Wickman taking fourth, and James Burns rounding out the top five. Josh Sidles improved eight places as the hard charger with Josh Sidles and Nielsen earning the hobby stock heat race victories.
