IMCA Modifieds, Northern SportMods headline Ice Breaker Challenge shows

EAGLE, Neb. (April 11, 2023) – Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods are on both race night cards, with bonus money waiting for drivers in either division who can sweep Eagle Raceway’s Ice Breaker Challenge Weekend. 

Modifieds run for $1,000 to win on Friday, April 14 and for $2,000 to win on Saturday, April 15 while Northern SportMods chase $500 top checks both nights. A Twice is Nice Challenge bonus of $1,000 goes to the driver(s) who can win both their main events.

Modified winners earn Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility as well. 

IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars run for $2,000 to win and B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational eligibility, while IMCA Sunoco Late Models vie for $600 to win on Friday. Top checks on Saturday are $1,000 for the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars and $400 for the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. 

IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Jet Racing Central, EQ Cylinder Heads Northern and Big Daddy Race Cars Northern re­gional, and Nebraska State points will be awarded each night. 

Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Racing starts at 7:30 p.m. Spectator admis­sion is $18 for adults. On Saturday, pits open at 3 p.m. and the front gate opens at 5 p.m. Racing is at 6 p.m. Adult admission to the grandstand is $18. 

Pit passes are $35 each night while spectator admission is $5 for kids ages 6-12 and free for five and under.

Fans hail Hall Saturday at Eagle

By Greg Soukup  EAGLE, Neb. (May 7, 2022) – After he went back to the drawing board, Derek Hall went to victory lane. Hall led from the first lap to the checkers in winning Saturday’s Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod main event at Eagle Raceway. “We didn’t have a very good showing the first night so we went back to the drawing board. We had two weeks to do it because we got rained out again last week,” he said from victory lane. “So we spent those two weeks going over the car and found some things here and there that needed to be changed. Johnson comes up big at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 8, 2023) – Rollovers and crashes made for an interesting night for the safety crew at Arlington Raceway on Saturday. A first lap red flag in the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature saw several cars get together in turn two, which resulted in both national points leader Trevor Serbus and Mike Stien rolling their cars. Dave Becker and Owen Carlson also got taken to the pits. The front row was gone so everyone moved up and that gave an opening for Matt Johnson to take the lead and he was a fourth of a lap ahead of the rest of the field. On lap 11, a yellow came out for Dan Griep who had been running second but clipped a tire, spun and was then done for the night. Grabouski is double winner at Eagle

By Greg Soukup EAGLE, Neb. (May 14, 2022) – Jordan Grabouski had the fans on their feet on Junior Fan Club Night at Eagle Raceway. Grabouski won both Friesen Performance IMCA Modified and IMCA Sunoco Stock Car features at America’s Home Track. Terry Hurt and then Norm Ziegenbein paced the Modified main as Grabouski worked his way to third, then to the front spot on lap six. Runner-up was Jaxon Saathoff and Clint Homan ran the last 10 circuits in third.  Grabouski worked his way to the lead with nine laps to go in the Stock Car headliner, winning ahead of Mike Nichols and Kyle Vanover.  Stuart Snyder’s steady march through the field was rewarded with the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car checkers. Ryan Gilland led the last six times around the oval in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature while Adam Armstrong was scored first the last seven circuits of the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod main.
