Bloomsburg, Selinsgrove make up weekend racing bill for PASS

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. (May 19, 2022) – The River Valley Builders Pennsylvania Sprint Series gets an early start to the weekend with a rare midweek show at Bloomsburg Fair Speedway, then move to its most-often-visited 2022 track, Selinsgrove Speedway, for more action on Saturday night. 

Tonight’s (Thursday’s) race will be the second for PASS at the beautiful Bloomsburg track, built last year inside the horse-racing facility that also held auto races through the years. The IMCA RaceSaver cars visited last season for an event co-sanctioned by three regional RaceSaver series and Zack Bealer of the Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series regular Zack Bealer took home the win. 

PASS is scheduled to appear at Bloomsburg again this year on July 13. 

Pit gates will open at 4 p.m., with grandstands opening at 5 p.m. and racing scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. 

Saturday’s race will be the second this year for PASS at Selinsgrove; the last time the series was scheduled to race, rain had other ideas.

Hometown driver Ken Duke won the year’s first series stop at Selinsgrove; two-time defending PASS champion Garrett Bard has won seven of the previous 15 PASS events on the big Snyder County oval.

Racing at Selinsgrove is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

A&A Auto Stores is sponsoring the Family Night program, which features free general admission for students.

Memorial Day Weekend will bring a tripleheader for PASS fans, with the River Valley Builders RaceSavers running a special Thursday night program at Selinsgrove, plus a Friday race at Clinton County Speedway, co-sponsored with the Laurel Highlands Sprint Series, and Saturday night racing at Port Royal Speedway.

Last lap pass keeps Spahr PASS perfect in 2023

(May 13, 2023) – This time it was different: No Eshenaur no. 5 and no up-front starting position, but with some incredible racing in traffic and a bump-and-run on the last lap, Logan Spahr kept his 2023 River Valley Builders Pennsylvania Sprint Series record perfect with an improbable victory in the 25-lap feature at Path Valley Speedway Saturday night. It was Spahr’s fourth IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car win in four tries this year and his fifth straight dating back to last October’s Keystone RaceSaver Challenge. Lincoln Speedway PASS checkers fly again for Bard

(Sept. 25) – Garrett Bard made it two-for-two at Lincoln Speedway Friday with a convincing Pennsylvania Sprint Series feature win.  Bard brushed aside a bad heat race starting draw and won that event, then moved from his fourth starting position to second on the opening lap and passed early leader Ken Duke Jr. following a lap four restart to take control of the feature.  He held off a charging Devin Adams at the end of a race that highlighted several of the IMCA Rac­eSaver Sprint Car series “young lions.” Bard had led all 20 laps for a July 4 win at Lincoln, countering Doug Dodson’s bid for the lead. Sweigart wins on last-lap pass at BAPS

By Frank Buhrman  YORK HAVEN, Pa. (Aug. 3) – Nic Sweigart passed Zach Newlin on the final lap to claim the vic­tory in Saturday’s 20-lap IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature at BAPS Motor Speedway. It was Sweigart’s second win of the season and the second of his career at York Haven. The race was co-sanctioned by the Pennsylvania Sprint Series and the Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series. A five-time winner at BAPS over the last two seasons, Newlin set sail and built a lead of nearly three seconds before a lap seven caution. Sweigart moved through the field from his ninth starting position. On lap 12, he passed Eddie Wag­ner for the runner-up spot and set his sights on Newlin, charging around high against the outside wall. The momentum from that high run enabled him to catch the leader in the first set of turns and slip past on the backstretch.
