MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – Rain Wednesday plus rain Thursday equals no racing this weekend in Marshalltown. 

The $10,000 to win World Nationals special for IMCA Modifieds has been postponed, due to wet grounds and the resulting lack of time to get the track ready, to Oct. 24-26.

The 13th annual event is a qualifying feature for the 2020 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms North­ern SportMods both race for $1,000 to win, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $500 to win during Friday and Sat­urday, Oct. 25 and 26 programs.

Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Racing starts at 7 p.m. both nights. 

Friday spectator admission is $15 for adults and $12 for seniors. On Saturday, admission is $20 for adults and $15 for seniors. Kids 10 and under get in free and pit passes are $30 both days.

The Thursday, Oct. 24 Cookies BBQ Sauce Kickoff to the World Nationals practice session runs from 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Camping is $20 a night and showers and limited electri­cal hookups will be available.

Lauritzen, Reitzler, Richards score first Marshalltown wins

By Joyce Eisele  MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (July 23) – It was Casey’s and Rumours Bar and Grill Salute to Marshalltown Law Enforcement Night at the Marshalltown Speedway Friday.  Ronn Lauritzen raced from sixth starting to second and was chomping at the bit for an early restart in the IMCA Modified feature. Lauritzen then put some distance between himself and the field and scored an easy win.  The IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars put together another caution-free race.  Josh Foster took advantage of his pole starting spot, and shot to the immediate lead.  That lead would vanish on lap three, when Todd Reitzler took over the top spot. Reitzler went on to lead the rest of the laps to take his first victory of the year at the High Banks.  Foster never went away however, chased Reitzler the entire race, but had to settle for second. King of the Highbanks rained out

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – Rain and the resulting wet track conditions are officially  winners of The King of the Highbanks special for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars at Marshalltown Speedway. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and IMCA STARS Mod Lites join the Stocks on the April 16 card at Marshalltown. Driver Appreciation Night has been moved to April 23.

Berry is IMCA Modified winner, Murty takes big money at Marshalltown

By Joyce Eisele MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (July 16) – Marshalltown Speedway held its regular weekly racing program on Friday night, along with the Central Iowa Fair.  Two drivers kept their winning streaks going as Kaden Reynolds rolled to another win in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock division, as did Dillon Raffurty in the IMCA STARS Mod Lites. Dallon Murty took home the $1,000 IMCA Sunoco Stock Car special, Jenae Gustin found her way to victory lane in the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods, Tom Berry claimed the win in the IMCA Modifieds and the Mach-1 Sport Compacts joined the regular classes with Adam Gates taking that victory. Last year’s track champion and defending IMCA national champion Berry made his presence known once again at the High Banks, as he piloted his new ride to victory. Berry started sixth and overtook early leader Drew Janssen on lap nine, and then never looked back, winning easily over Janssen.
