SEYMOUR, Wis. (Aug. 19) – J.J. Andersen went into the Sunday night IMCA Modified event at Outagamie Speedway seeking a weekend sweep but Brian Mullen had other ideas.
The winner Friday at Luxemburg Speedway and Saturday at 141 Speedway, Anderson jumped to the early lead and appeared to be well on his way to completing the 3-for-3 weekend. Mullen raced from row four into the runner-up spot on lap five.
With Andersen and Mullen both running the top groove, it looked as if that’s how they would finish but a caution on lap eight changed everything. With Mullen restarting down low, Andersen switched to the bottom of the track and allowed Mullen the preferred line up top.
Mullen took the lead, going unchallenged the remainder of the event for the win. Andersen ended in second. Tyler Wilson, Johnny Whitman and Benji LaCrosse completed the top five.
Brandon Czarapata checked out in winning the caution-free IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature while Jason Ebert was never challenged in racing to his second straight Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod victory.
Cody Booth scored his first Mach-1 Sport Compact win of the season.
By Edward Anschutz SEYMOUR, Wis. (July 31) – Night six of the season saw 120-plus cars on action and Jamie Schmidt proved to be the fastest of the 41 IMCA Modifieds entered. Mark Schuenemann shot to the lead of the Modified feature from the front row as Schmidt, Jason Czarapata and Benji LaCrosse gave chase. Schuenemann worked the outside groove with the competition hot on his heals running the same groove. A caution with three laps remaining changed everything. As the race resumed, Schuenemann went to the bottom groove, which allowed Schmidt to slip by up top. Schmidt pulled away to score the win and a clean sweep to boot. Lucas Lamberies made a late race charge to place second, Schuenemann was third, LaCrosse took fourth and Jason Czarapata completed the top five. After a rough start, the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature resumed with Tim Paitrick pacing the field before Eric Arneson stormed by for the top spot on lap five. Brandon Czarapata and Rod Snellenberger were in hot pursuit until a flat tire sent Snellenberger pitside. Meanwhile, Czarapata began applying heavy pressure to Arneson in the closing laps. By Edward Anschutz SEYMOUR, Wis. (July 29, 2022) – Nick Buckarma outlasted Clint Forstner to score his first IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature win of the season, good for $750 and B & B Racing Chassis All-Star qualifying eligibility, Saturday night as 108 racers checked to do battle at Outagamie Speedway powered by EWSC. Forstner drew the pole and led until Buckarma used the outside groove to slip by up top on the third lap. Forstner went back to work down low, retaking the lead on the 12th lap. The duo raced side-by-side the remainder of the event with Kyle Frederick a close third. With two laps remaining, Buckarma was able to find the momentum up top to grab the top spot once again. Buckarma held on by a fender to score a thrilling win. Forstner was second, Frederick took third, Wyatt Block placed fourth and Brett Wenzel completed the top five. In Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod action it was Skyler Woods taking command early on as last week’s winner Jake Carpenter worked his way through the field from row six. [Read More]
By Edward Anschutz SEYMOUR, Wis. (July 14, 2023) – Jared Siefert scored big Friday night, winning the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature and $1,000 at Outagamie Speedway. Jeff Kropp paced the opening laps before coming under attack by former IMCA Modified national champion Siefert, who took his Sniper Speed Chassis to the top groove and raced around Kropp for the lead on lap four. Tyler Wilson came to call, breaking into the runner-up position. Wilson began to dog Siefert just past the midway point. A caution on 12 bunched the field as Siefert led. That’s when it began to rain, forcing officials to cancel the remainder of the program. Siefert, already guaranteed a starting spot in the B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational for his $5,000 win at the Jackson Motorplex Stock Car Challenge in May, scored a clean sweep on the night and a pocket full of cash for his efforts. Wilson had to settle second, Kropp was third and Rod Snellenberger completed the top four. Colton See went to victory lane for the first time in [Read More]
