PLEASANTON, Texas (July 28) – Rick Green took home the top money in Saturday’s IMCA Modified feature at I-37 Speedway, but it wasn’t easy after midway.
Green had jumped out to an early lead from the eighth starting spot and put some distance on Jeremy Davenport, Cody Tidwell, Jake Rollins and Greg Dinsmore.
Dinsmore advanced to second but was half a straightaway back until caution flew on lap 13. The restart saw Dinsmore and Tidwell on Green’s bumper, but as the two fought for second Green inched ahead.
Dinsmore’s run to the front ended with brake problems, leaving Tidwell to take up the charge on a restart. Green got a couple car lengths on Tidwell and Carroll with Flanagan and Cody Leonard side-by-side for fourth.
Tidwell gave Green a look on the final lap, but Green held him off for his first I-37 victory in several years.
By J.M. Hallas PLEASANTON, Texas (July 18) – Greg Dinsmore answered all the questions in winning the Saturday Summer Showdown IMCA Modified feature at I-37 Speedway. The 20-lap feature saw Dinsmore getting to turn one first trailed by Ryan Doyon, A.J. Wernette, Talon Minten and Johnny Melancon alongside Logan Dinsmore. Following two early restarts, Doyon and Minten swapped the second spot before Minten powered around and closed on the leader. Minten showed him his nose once with Dinsmore adjusting to a middle groove and holding the top spot. At halfway, Dinsmore was running up on traffic giving Doyon the chance to close a six-car advantage in the waning laps. Dinsmore, a former track champion, got through traffic and kept Doyon at bay in taking the win. Son Logan was fifth. “Just so many emotions racing with my kids,” said Dinsmore “It’s something I have been waiting for, for so many years. So many emotions. In the race Friday night we had a fast car but caught a rut and broke an upper ‘A’ arm. We spent the day welding things I never thought I would even [Read More]
By J.M. Hallas PLEASANTON, Texas (Aug. 24) – Chris Carroll looked like he was on his way to an easy victory in Saturday’s IMCA Modified main event at I-37 Speedway, until a mid-race caution flew. Carroll then had to fend off Dillon Tindall and a last lap challenge from former champion Greg Dinsmore to secure that win. A spun car on lap 13 brought out the yellow that erased Carroll’s lead. Greg Dinsmore and Dillon Tindall stayed wheel-to-wheel for second on the restart with Jason Borlace, Donald Banker and Anthony Gordon three-wide for fifth. Banker took the spot and then passed Campbell for fourth. Dinsmore finally shook off Tindall for second but remained a handful of [Read More]
PLEASANTON, Texas (May 18) – After earning his first-ever IMCA Modified feature win early last month, Chris Morris returned to the scene and picked up I-37 Speedway win number two, his third of the season, Saturday night. Morris was able to move up quickly and get early leaders Landon Bednarz and Jamie Campbell then motor away for the win. Morris went around Bednarz on the high side then ducked under Campbell to snag the top spot on lap four. After a late caution, he pulled away as Rick Green and P.J. Egbert ran side-by-side second. This left Morris uncontested at the checkers while Green edged out Egbert for second. “I knew it was going to be tough,” said Morris. “There’s quite a few good guys here. I feel like I had to work a little more for that one than the first one. It makes it all that much sweeter.” “Seeing P.J. (Egbert) roll in puts a little pressure on. We ran against him at Heart O’ Texas (in Waco) last night and he beat [Read More]
