Green takes I-37 Modified checkers

PLEASANTON, Texas (July 28) – Rick Green took home the top money in Saturday’s IMCA Modified feature at I-37 Speedway, but it wasn’t easy after midway.

Green had jumped out to an early lead from the eighth starting spot and put some distance on Jeremy Davenport, Cody Tidwell, Jake Rollins and Greg Dinsmore.

Dinsmore advanced to second but was half a straightaway back until caution flew on lap 13. The restart saw Dinsmore and Tidwell on Green’s bumper, but as the two fought for second Green inched ahead.

Dinsmore’s run to the front ended with brake problems, leaving Tidwell to take up the charge on a restart. Green got a couple car lengths on Tidwell and Carroll with Flanagan and Cody Leonard side-by-side for fourth.

Tidwell gave Green a look on the final lap, but Green held him off for his first I-37 victory in several years.

Mallicoat Motors Away to Modified Money on Night Two of Texas Showdown at I-37

Hallas PLEASANTON, Texas (Jan. 8, 2026) — When the $1,250-to-win, 20-lap IMCA Modified main roared to life for night two of the Texas Showdown at I-37 Speedway, Jared Maupin and William Gould stayed side by side into turn one. Gould drifted up slightly in turn two but came off the corner better to lead ahead of Maupin, night-one winner Cody Laney, and Izac Mallicoat going three-wide for second. Mallicoat was able to catch and pass Gould for the lead before a spin in turn four brought out the yellow. On the restart, Mallicoat, Gould and Laney got away while Maupin ran side by side with Dean Abbey. Mallicoat quickly began to check out, leaving Laney and Gould tied at the rub rails for numerous laps. That battle allowed Mallicoat to stretch his advantage, reaching the halfway point ahead of Gould, Laney, Abbey and Maupin, who would later pull off, moving Steven Whiteaker Jr. into fifth. Dinsmore delivers opening night win at I-37

I-37 Speedway, after a “proposed” opening night rain out last week, raised the curtain on the new season with a host of racing on the night’s agenda. The Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, thanks to Sundowner Performance Diesel, had a $1,000 to win Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifier won by Greg Dinsmore. As the feature roared to life it was Logan Dinsmore taking a look low on his dad Greg for the lead off turn two before a quick yellow. The leader got a good launch on a lap 14 restart green. IMCA Modifieds chase $1,000 check at I-37 opener

PLEASANTON, Texas (March 22, 2023) – Saturday’s season opener at I-37 Speedway sees Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds racing for $1,000 to win along with qualifying eligibility for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. Pit gates and the grandstand both open at 4 p.m. for the March 25 lidlifter. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. with racing to follow. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, GRT Race Cars South Central Region, Texas State and track points will be awarded. Pit passes are $30. Spectator admission is $16 for adults, $11 for seniors, military and First Responders, and $6 for kids, with five and under free. Friday’s practice session at Pleasanton runs from 6-9:30 p.m. Pit passes are 420.

Bitting Charges from Rear to Win Saturday Hobby Stock Show at Central Arizona

By Rowdy Briggs CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (Mar. 14, 2026) — A strong field of 24 Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks answered the call for the $1000 to win feature at Central Arizona. Matt Rice and Joel Magee led the field to green, with Magee taking the early lead. Steve Bitting Jr. spun on lap two and was sent to the rear but mounted an impressive comeback. Up front, Magee and Anthony Madrid battled, for the lead until lap 18, when Bitting charged past both drivers to take over the top spot. Bitting went on to score the win over Magee, Madrid, Charles McDaniel Sr., and Hannah Miller. He stated in his post-race interview that he lost brakes early but kept his car on the bottom and worked his way through the field. Saathoff Delivers Hometown Victory on Final Night of Beatrice Spring Nationals

(Mar. 14, 2026) — Jaxon Saathoff delivered a thrilling hometown victory in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature on the final night of the 33rd annual Spring Nationals at Beatrice Speedway. The Beatrice driver charged from ninth to win the 25-lap, $2,000-to-win main event, which served as a Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational qualifier for the 2026 Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s and placed him on the eligibility list to attempt to qualify. The triumph marked Saathoff’s first Jet Racing Central Region win of the season and his first career Spring Nationals title — exactly 30 years after his father Johnny captured the event in 1996.
