Green takes I-37 Modified checkers

PLEASANTON, Texas (July 28) – Rick Green took home the top money in Saturday’s IMCA Modified feature at I-37 Speedway, but it wasn’t easy after midway.

Green had jumped out to an early lead from the eighth starting spot and put some distance on Jeremy Davenport, Cody Tidwell, Jake Rollins and Greg Dinsmore.

Dinsmore advanced to second but was half a straightaway back until caution flew on lap 13. The restart saw Dinsmore and Tidwell on Green’s bumper, but as the two fought for second Green inched ahead.

Dinsmore’s run to the front ended with brake problems, leaving Tidwell to take up the charge on a restart. Green got a couple car lengths on Tidwell and Carroll with Flanagan and Cody Leonard side-by-side for fourth.

Tidwell gave Green a look on the final lap, but Green held him off for his first I-37 victory in several years.

Dates announced for inaugural South Texas IMCA Modified Series

HUFFMAN, Texas (Jan. 19, 2024) – The idea of a traveling series deep in the Lone Star State becomes a reality this year, with the inaugural South Texas IMCA Modified Series. Setup changes pay I-37 dividends to Green

By J.M. Hallas PLEASANTON, Texas (June 20) – After setup changes galore from the heat to the feature, Rick Green Parked his IMCA Modified in victory lane Saturday night at I-37 Speedway. Green powered around the outside off turn two to get out front early on, trailed by Ryan Doyon, Logan Dinsmore, Chris Carroll and Donald Banker. Past track champion Greg Dinsmore got to fifth before a caution. On the restart Carroll began pressuring Logan Dinsmore for third. Green got away following the next restart while Logan Dinsmore was looking for a way past Doyon for second. A quick yellow on lap 12 set up a single file restart to the finish. Maupin prevails in IMCA Modified opener at I-37

Hallas PLEASANTON, Texas (March 19, 2022) – Spring has (almost) sprung, with the new season only hours away before the green flag waved for the I-37 Speedway season opener on the ¼-mile, semi-banked dirt oval, just south of San Antonio. As the IMCA Modified 20-lap main fired off it was Jared Maupin off turn two with the lead trailed by Chris Morris, Cameron Starry, Robert Liese and Ryan Doyon in top five. After a quick spin and caution, Morris began his challenge on Maupin for the lead, throwing everything but the kitchen sink at him. Morris tried diving in low and got alongside Maupin, but Maupin held him off. Another quick spin-caution set up a repeat of Morris trying to stick the nose inside Maupin on the restart, to no avail. IMCA Announces 2025 Stock Car Body Rule Amendment Effective Immediately

VINTON, Iowa (June 13, 2025) — The International Motor Contest Association (IMCA) has announced an immediate amendment to the 2025 Stock Car body rules regarding the use of the MD3 Camaro Stock Car body kit. The original rule stated:“IMCA approved MD3 Stock Car kit (part no. 33131-10200-X) is allowed. This Camaro kit must remain as produced, complete and unaltered. The kit components may not be used with any other body style.” Effective today, the following exceptions have been approved and added to the 2025 rulebook: These updates are effective immediately at all IMCA-sanctioned events nationwide. “This amendment gives our racers utilizing the Camaro body style more flexibility without compromising the integrity or identity,” said IMCA President, Brett Root. All competitors and teams are encouraged to review this update and ensure compliance at upcoming events.
