Green takes I-37 Modified checkers

PLEASANTON, Texas (July 28) – Rick Green took home the top money in Saturday’s IMCA Modified feature at I-37 Speedway, but it wasn’t easy after midway.

Green had jumped out to an early lead from the eighth starting spot and put some distance on Jeremy Davenport, Cody Tidwell, Jake Rollins and Greg Dinsmore.

Dinsmore advanced to second but was half a straightaway back until caution flew on lap 13. The restart saw Dinsmore and Tidwell on Green’s bumper, but as the two fought for second Green inched ahead.

Dinsmore’s run to the front ended with brake problems, leaving Tidwell to take up the charge on a restart. Green got a couple car lengths on Tidwell and Carroll with Flanagan and Cody Leonard side-by-side for fourth.

Tidwell gave Green a look on the final lap, but Green held him off for his first I-37 victory in several years.

Carroll collects $1,000 Fast Shafts All-Star win at I-37

Hallas PLEASANTON, Texas (March 7) – Chris Carroll took home the $1,000 win in the IMCA Modified 20-lapper, getting the best of some stiff competition and putting his name on the Fast Shafts all-Star Invitational ballot Saturday at I-37 Speedway. The opening night checkers came ahead of Cody Tidwell and Nebraska visitor Chad Andersen. Carroll made his drive from the third row, running down Andersen for the lead with the two side by side on lap eight and Carroll getting the top spot a lap later. Tidwell moved into second just after midway while Jared Maupin caught Dillon Tindall for fourth. While Carroll inched ahead, Andersen pressured Tidwell for second and Rick Green and Tindall scrapped for fifth. Maupin Breaks Through for First STIMS Win of 2025 at I-37

Hallas PLEASANTON, Texas (Aug. 23, 2025) — The South Texas IMCA Modified Series rolled into I-37 Speedway for a 20-lap Friesen Performance IMCA Modified main event that featured a family storyline right from the start. After the redraw, the Dinsmore brothers — Logan, a series championship contender, and Cameron, a rookie in just his first half season of IMCA Modified racing — lined up side-by-side on the front row. At the drop of the green, Logan Dinsmore jumped out front with Jared Maupin in close pursuit, followed by Colin Carroll, Cameron Dinsmore, and Johnny Torres. Maupin quickly turned up the pressure, showing the nose low in turn one on lap two and getting alongside the leader the next time around. Inaugural Texas Showdown Set for Jan. 7–10 at I-37

By Ben Deatherage PLEASANTON, Texas (Nov. 12, 2025) — The first-ever Texas Showdown will take center stage at I-37 Speedway January 7–10, 2026, featuring four consecutive nights of Speedway Motors IMCA-sanctioned action for the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars. A practice session on Tuesday, January 6 will precede the racing program, followed by a free BBQ gathering for all competitors and crews. Each night’s IMCA Modified feature will serve as a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifier, while the IMCA Stock Cars will race for B&B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational qualifying status Thursday through Saturday. Drivers earning those wins will be added to the eligibility list to qualify for their respective All-Star Invitational events to be run at the 2026 Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. $10,000-To-Win Captain of the Creek Returns to 141 Speedway Aug. 14-15

(July 23, 2026) — One of the richest Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMod events of the season returns to 141 Speedway on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 14-15, as the eighth annual Captain of the Creek VIII takes center stage. Since its debut in 2019, the Captain of the Creek has become one of the Midwest’s premier IMCA SportMod specials. Matt Avila enters this year’s event looking to become the first three-time winner after capturing back-to-back titles in 2024 and 2025. Midstate Machine Championship Engines Return for 44th IMCA Super Nationals

By Ben Deatherage VINTON, Iowa (July 23, 2026) — One of the most anticipated traditions of America’s Racin’ Vacation returns this September as Midstate Machine will once again provide four brand-new championship engines for the winners of Saturday night’s Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified, Sunoco IMCA Stock Car, Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMod, and Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock features at the 44th Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.
