SHAWANO, Wis. (May 19) – Rookie Wyatt Block won his first career IMCA Modified feature Saturday at Shawano Speedway.
Trevor Spaulding pulled to the early lead with Eddie Muenster in tow. As those two paced the field, Block began to work through the field after starting the race in 10th. By the time Block passed Muenster for second near the midpoint of the race, Spaulding had built up a sizeable advantage.
Block continued to reel in Spaulding, though, before a caution after lap 13 bunched the field back up.
Block took advantage and grabbed the lead with an inside pass for the lead on lap 15, then never looked back in scoring his first IMCA Modified win. Spaulding finished second. Lance Arneson was the hard charger as he moved from 17th starting to finish third.
Jeremy Christians notched another IMCA Sunoco Stock Car win, his first of the 2018 season, while Lucas Lamberies remained unbeaten in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods as he won his third feature in a row.
By Dave Buss SHAWANO, Wis. (June 1) – Jerry Wilinski was the IMCA Modified winner on Hall of Fame Induction Night at Shawano Speedway. Wilinski skated by Tim Rothe on the second lap to grab the lead in the Saturday main event. Wilinski checked out from the field until a lap nine caution brought the pack back together. The yellow flag was the only thing that slowed Wilinski as he again jumped to a dominating lead on the restart. Wyatt Block, Rothe and Konnor Wilinski were left to sort things out for second at the line with Block grabbing the spot followed by Roth and Konnor Wilinski in the top four. Not to be outdone, Dan Michonski got by polesitter Asa Doxtator on lap one of the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature and proceeded to disappear from the pack on his way to a green to checkers win. A late caution changed everything in the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature as Vince Engebregtsen had a great restart and charged to the lead, capturing the win [Read More]
SHAWANO, Wis. (July 23-24) – Fans were given two opportunities to watch racing action at Shawano Speedway as the Mid-Summer Classic kicked off on Friday. Mike Mullen was the story on opening night, picking up All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility wins in both the IMCA Modified and IMCA Sunoco Stock Car divisions in very impressive fashion while Jayden Schmidt paced the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods. Saturday would provide just as much action as Marcus Yarie, Jeffery Teske and Chucky Forstner found victory lane. The Northern SportMods kicked action off with what looked to be another great run by Max Oreskovich jumping to the early lead. Oreskovich led the early part of the race with Schmidt giving him astiff challenge for the top spot. Jeff Schmuhl and Teske joined the battle up front. As the leaders entered turn one, Oreskovich’s engine expired, taking him to the outside wall and collecting Schmidt, who was able to continue after a trip to pit lane. Schmuhl also suffered mechanical issues during the caution and retired his car for the night. Meanwhile, Teske [Read More]
By Dave Buss SHAWANO, Wis. (May 3, 2025) — The Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods kicked off feature action with one of the night’s most intense races at Shawano Speedway, where a steady Friday night rain had soaked the infield and left a heavy layer of clay on the legendary half-mile. Thanks to diligent work from the track crew throughout Saturday, the surface was race-ready by nightfall—and Jeffery Teske was ready to capitalize. Teske surged into the lead on lap 2, getting around Michael Springborn early and building a comfortable cushion. That advantage would be tested late as Cole Magnin carved his way into contention, but each time he prepared to make a move, lapped traffic slowed his momentum. Teske held strong through the pressure to secure his first win of the season. Magnin finished second, followed by J.J. Vanderloop in third Nolan Repeats in Stock Car Season Opener In Sunoco IMCA Stock Car action, it was business as usual for defending track champion Trent Nolan.
