Garnhart, Soppe score at Dubuque

DUBUQUE, Iowa (May 6) – Sunday’s Merfeld Brothers Auto IMCA Modifieds feature at Dubuque Speedway was another nail biter as several drivers took their turns at the front.

Bryce Garnhart battled with Austin Moyer for much of the 20-lap main event before crossing under the checkers ahead of Moyer. Last week’s winner Jason Schueller turned in another fine run in taking third.

Defending IMCA national champion Tyler Soppe scored the feature win in the 18-lap GSI Collision Specialists Northern Sportmod main event.

Soppe fought to the front from a fourth row start to score the win ahead of early leader Justin Becker. Scott Busch followed up last week’s win with a third place finish.

Farley, Dubuque set to go green this weekend

By Jerry Mackey FARLEY, Iowa – The racing season is set to see the first green flags of 2018 at the popular Northeast Iowa tracks under the direction of Farley Speedway Promotions. Farley Speedway, located on the southwest corner of Farley, Iowa, is set to entertain a full program of weekly racing that includes IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods on Friday, April 27 with hot laps taking to the 3/8 mile dirt track at 7 p.m. On Sunday, April 29, the Dubuque County Fairgrounds Speedway will open the 2018 campaign with sanctioned Modifieds and Northern SportMods on the card. Sunday’s start time has been moved up to 5 p.m. for the upcoming season. The earlier start time will allow fans and competitors alike an opportunity to get home much earlier and get a good night’s rest to prepare for the week ahead. Thompson, Roth are IMCA winners at Dubuque

By Jerry Mackey DUBUQUE, Iowa (June 24) – Sunday racing action at Dubuque Speedway provided the fans with a thrilling night of action packed plenty of wheel-to-wheel action on Casey’s General Store Night at the Races. Derek Thompson found the tacky track to his liking in scoring the 20-lap Merfeld Auto IMCA Modified feature. Thompson led the most laps in taking the checkers ahead of Austin Moyer and Matt Short. Jason Roth won his second consecutive GSI Collision Specialists IMCA Northern SportMod main event. Roth took the point position after the midway portion of the 18-lap main and went on to cross under the flag stand ahead of Gage Neal and Troy Bauer.

Switch in lines pays off for Callahan

By Rob Hinckley DUBUQUE, Iowa (July 7) – A change of plans for Joel Callahan. The Dubuque veteran switched lines on the fly and took the Eichman’s Bar and Grill IMCA Late Model 25-lap feature Sunday evening on his home track. “I thought it would be a top side track, but that changed,” Callahan said in Dubuque Speedway’s Hoker Trucking/C&W Trucking/Kam Koncepts Victory Circle. “It got treacherous up there so we hooked up down low.” Callahan rolled off fifth and quickly moved into the fray for the point. He moved past Ron Klein on a late restart en route to the win. Luke Goedert also found the bottom to his liking and took second late. Klein, Jeremiah Hurst and Luke Merfeld followed. Jason Schueller took off from the pole and paced all 20 Merfeld Brothers Automotive IMCA Modified feature circuits. Larson Bags Big Bucks at CJ Speedway

By Jerry Mackey COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa (Jul. 4, 2025) — The $1,300 dollar first place prize money drew an excellent field of very talented Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds to the 4/10th mile dirt track CJ Speedway located on the Louisa County Fairgrounds. The 20 lap feature was dominated by past National Modified champion Jeff Larson from Freeport, Illinois. Larson took advantage of a great start from the outside of the front row and put the P.J. Kostenbader-owned no. B1 on the top side of the smooth track and sailed on to the feature win over some of the best Modified drivers in the Midwest. Larson has managed to score seven wins in the Razor Chassis North Central Region in 2025. Logan Veloz of Colona, Illinois stayed within striking distance of Larson but was not able to seriously contend for the win. Veloz crossed under the checkers ahead of Josh Foster. Woods Rockets to Second Straight Outagamie Modified Win

By Joe Orsini SEYMOUR, Wis. (Jul. 4, 2025) – As the calendar flipped from June to July, temperatures rose—and so did the excitement at Outagamie Speedway. The Friesen Performance IMCA Modified main event saw Cody Schroeder lead the opening lap from the front row. That lead was short-lived, though, as Skyler Woods blasted the high side on lap two and rocketed into the top spot. Woods was able to fend off all challengers over the balance of the race to secure his second consecutive win at Outagamie and in the Razor Chassis North Central Region. Schroeder finished second with Dylan Waldvogel rounding out the podium in third.
