Dubuque Speedway opens with Schueller, Busch winners

DUBUQUE, Iowa (April 29) – The 2018 racing season is officially underway at the Dubuque Speedway with opening night action being held on Sunday, April 29.

Jason Schueller served notice that winning the track championship in 2017 was only incentive to repeat in the very tough IMCA Modified division. Schueller drove his new Rage chassis to the 20-lap feature win ahead of Mark Schulte and Tyler Madigan.

Scott Busch used his front row start to his advantage in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and earned the opening night feature win. Busch led flag to flag in scoring the win ahead of Jerry Miles and Tyler Soppe.

Deery Series begins drive to 500th event with Davenport, Maquoketa, Dubuque dates

DAVENPORT, Iowa (April 4) – A rich weekend kicks off the Deery Brothers Summer Series’ history-making 33rd season. Opening night takes the IMCA Late Model tour to Davenport Speedway for the $5,000 to win Rebel 5K next Friday, April 12. Completing the tripleheader slate are $2,500 to win events Saturday, April 13 at Maquoketa Speedway and Sunday, April 14 at Dubuque Speedway. “You’d be hard-pressed to find another series in America that can boast about their 500th event in series history. Maquoketa, Dubuque Deery events postponed

MAQUOKETA, Iowa (April 13) – Forecasts calling for less than pleasant temperatures Saturday and Sunday have resulted in postponements of Deery Brothers Summer Series events at Maquoketa Speedway and at Dubuque Speedway. Both IMCA Late Model tour events are to be rescheduled. The 33rd annual Deery Series now opens at Cedar County Raceway in Tipton with a $2,000 to win, minimum $300 to start main event next Saturday, April 20. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m. Spectator admission is $18 for adults, $15 for seniors and students and free for kids ages 12 and under when accompanying a paid adult. Fryer takes IMCA Modified win at Dubuque

By Rob Hinckley DUBUQUE, Iowa (June 2) – The track came to him. That is what Jaden Fryer wanted Sunday evening at Dubuque Speedway. The Freeport, Ill. pilot shot from the outside front row and held off track champion Bryce Garnhart and NASCAR and dirt legend Ken Schrader to win the Merfeld Brothers Automotive IMCA Modified 20-lap feature. “This was really special,” Fryer said in C&W Trucking/Hoker Trucking/Kam Koncepts Victory Lane. “It was fun getting the win and we worked hard.” Fryer and his team dedicated the win to a friend recently lost to cancer and had the car wrapped in her memory. Herrera Finally Breaks Through at Nodak Speedway

(July 4, 2026) — Payce Herrera finally broke through at the Playground of Power, making a decisive pass with six laps remaining to score his first career Nodak Speedway victory in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods. The 2026 Tougher Than Dirt Tour champion from Price, Utah, started fourth and collected his 11th win of the season after a race filled with lead changes and intense battles. Keenan Glasser, the 2024 North Dakota state champion, jumped to the early lead before a caution on lap three erased his advantage. On the restart, Glasser held off a thrilling three-wide challenge from Stan Tomlinson and Herrera, then survived another restart one lap later as Herrera and newly crowned Nodak Speedway champion Chad Strachen both looked for a way around. Storm Postpones Racing Action At CJ Speedway

By Jerry Mackey COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa (July 3, 2026) — Severe weather forced officials to cancel the remainder of Friday night’s racing program at CJ Speedway after qualifying events had been completed. Forecasts had called for storms to remain north of Columbus Junction until later in the evening, but the weather arrived much sooner than expected. The Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature had just begun when strong winds created unsafe racing conditions after four laps, forcing officials to stop the race. Rain quickly followed, becoming a heavy downpour as teams loaded their race cars in the pit area. The Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods will each run makeup features on Friday, July 10, in addition to a full night of racing. New competitors are welcome to enter both makeup features, giving fans a six-feature program for the regular admission price. The Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks will run two features on Friday, July 24. Schnitzer Scores First Win of 2026 at Grays Harbor Raceway

By Shaun Hulbert ELMA, Wash. (July 3, 2026) — A large crowd kicked off the Independence Day weekend as Q-Mart presented the Mid-Season Championship at Grays Harbor Raceway. Fans enjoyed Fan Appreciation activities before the evening concluded with a spectacular fireworks display. The Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature delivered plenty of drama as Brenton Schnitzer capitalized on misfortune for the frontrunners to earn his first DeVilbiss Racing Chassis Western Region victory of the 2026 season. John Gaynor appeared to have the race under control until a flat tire and subsequent mechanical issues ended his bid for the win, opening the door for Schnitzer. The Shelton driver took over the lead and held off a determined charge from Austin Rognlin over the closing laps to secure the victory after starting ninth.
