Dubuque Speedway opens with Schueller, Busch winners

DUBUQUE, Iowa (April 29) – The 2018 racing season is officially underway at the Dubuque Speedway with opening night action being held on Sunday, April 29.

Jason Schueller served notice that winning the track championship in 2017 was only incentive to repeat in the very tough IMCA Modified division. Schueller drove his new Rage chassis to the 20-lap feature win ahead of Mark Schulte and Tyler Madigan.

Scott Busch used his front row start to his advantage in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and earned the opening night feature win. Busch led flag to flag in scoring the win ahead of Jerry Miles and Tyler Soppe.

$250 Sunoco bonus highlights races in Dubuque this Sunday night

DUBUQUE, Iowa – Extra money is on the line for the winner of Sunday’s main event for IMCA Sunoco Late Models at Dubuque Speedway. The fourth $250 Sunoco Race Fuels bonus of the season will be paid to the June 6 Late Model winner in Dubuque. Sunoco bonuses will be presented at Late Model sanctioned tracks again this year. Drivers are eligible for one bonus during the 2021 racing season. Winners so far this year are Matt Ryan at 300 Raceway in Farley, followed by Sean Johnson at Independence Motor Speedway and Andy Eckrich last Saturday night at 34 Raceway in West Burlington. IMCA will announce mid-week before the dates bonuses are to be awarded at each track. The grandstand opens at 4 p.m. and general admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors 65 and over, $6 for students 13-17, and 12 and under get in free with a paid adult. Racing is set to get underway following 6 p.m. hot laps.

Independence, Dubuque dates next on Deery Series schedule

INDEPENDENCE, Iowa – A Deery Brothers Summer Series doubleheader is on the docket this weekend, as the 33rd annual tour for IMCA Late Models travels to Independence Motor Speedway and Dubuque Speedway. A top prize of $2,000 is on the line Saturday, April 27 at Independence while the winner of the Sunday, April 28 Hershel Roberts/Ray Guss Sr. Memorial at Dubuque goes home with $2,500. Both features pay a minimum of $300 to start. The Sunday show was rescheduled after a mid-April twinbill at Maquoketa and Dubuque was lost to unseasonable weather. The 492nd event in series history takes Deery drivers and fans to Independence for the 30th time. Pit gates and the grandstand open at 4 p.m. Hot laps are at 6 p.m. with racing to follow. Spectator admission is $20 for adults, $18 for seniors, $15 for students and free for kids 12 and under when accompanying a paid adult. Pit passes are $35. Gansen rolls to Dubuque IMCA Modified win

By Rob Hinckley DUBUQUE, Iowa (Aug. 4) – He hit the gas early and never looked back. Matt Gansen raced to the front from his fifth starting position and won his second race in the last three tries at Dubuque Speedway Sunday evening. The Merfeld Brothers Automotive IMCA Modified ace took the non-stop 20-lap affair over early leader Timmy Current, Bryce Garnhart, Jed Freiburger and Jeff Larson. Jason Roth finally got the monkey off his back in the Peosta Warehousing Logistics IMCA Northern SportMod 15-lap finale. After leading the previous three, he kept it on top this night for the win. Fellow Wisconsin driver Travis Fecht, Jake Murphy, Justin Becker and Mitch Current followed. Becker started the race in the rear. Starry Stars in Stock Cars for Opening Night of Texas Showdown at I-37

By J.M. Hallas PLEASANTON, Texas (Jan. 7, 2026) — After a short winter break, I-37 Speedway, just south of San Antonio, returned to action with a huge four-day show, the Texas Showdown. The event features IMCA Modifieds and Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars on the ¼-mile, semi-banked dirt oval, with strong early-season payouts. Extra money is also up for grabs for any driver sweeping all four nights in the two Speedway Motors IMCA classes. The start of the 20-lap IMCA Stock Car feature saw Beau Collins and Cody Leonard stay side by side into turn one, but it was Collins who gained the advantage off turn two.
