Probst Claims $1,000 Jess Weishaar Memorial Victory at Kossuth County

ALGONA, Iowa (July 16, 2026) — Cory Probst collected the biggest payday Thursday night by winning the annual Jess Weishaar Memorial for the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks at Kossuth County Speedway

Jade Lange and Chris Krug brought the 23-car Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock field to the green, with Krug leading the opening lap.

Trevor Iverson spun on lap three, Bryce Sommerfeld brought out another caution on lap six and Lange’s mechanical issues slowed the field again two laps later.

On the ensuing restart, Probst charged to the lead and was out front at the halfway point ahead of Doug Wickman, Krug, Steve Wickman and point leader Brandon Nielsen.

A caution for Nash Palmer with two laps remaining and another multi-car incident on the ensuing restart set up a green-white-checkered finish, but Probst held on to earn the $1,000 payday. The Brewster, Minnesota, driver collected his sixth B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region victory of the season and first at Kossuth County Speedway.

Nielsen stormed from 12th to finish second, Doug Wickman was third, Josh Sidles finished fourth, and Jaxon Daniels rounded out the top five after starting 14th. Trevor Iverson advanced from 16th to sixth, while Billy Phelps, Bryce Sommerfeld and Dan Hanselman each gained 11 or more positions, with Hanselman charging from 23rd to ninth.

Swearingen Charges Late for Stock Car Victory

The Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature needed two complete restarts before settling into green-flag action.

McCain Jennings led early and remained out front through the halfway mark while Calvin Lange, Chad Palmer, Wayne Landheer and Troy Swearingen battled behind him.

A caution with six laps remaining erased Jennings’ advantage, and Swearingen took advantage by driving into the lead with three laps to go before pulling away for the win.

The Thompson driver earned his third EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season, with all three coming at Kossuth County Speedway.

Jennings finished second, Palmer advanced from 10th to third, David Wickman was fourth, and Lange completed the top five. Swearingen earned hard charger honors after racing from ninth to victory.

Stevens Holds Off Fett in SportMod Main

The Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMod feature was slowed by cautions on the opening lap and again on lap three, but once racing resumed Charlie Stevens built a comfortable advantage.

Alec Fett narrowed the gap over the closing laps, but Stevens held on for his third victory of the season, with all three coming at Kossuth County Speedway.

Fett charged from ninth to second, George Nordman finished third after starting sixth, Josh Appel advanced from eighth to fourth, and Jacob Tacheny completed the top five.

Fett Goes Wire-to-Wire in Modifieds

The Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature went caution-free with Colby Fett leading all 20 laps from the pole.

The Algona driver completed a clean sweep of the night after also winning the heat race. His victory was his fourth in the Razor Chassis North Central Region this season and second at Kossuth County Speedway.

Point leader Chaz Baca Jr. finished second after starting fourth, Matt Looft was third, Jeremy Mills finished fourth, and Jason Bass completed the top five.

Micah Lavrenz was the leader after the first lap. Burns edged ahead but fell all the way back to seventh after getting a little tag on the tail from Lavrenz that got him loose and his car sideways. New location for 10-year-old’s lemonade stand helps boost funds raised for Salute to Veterans

ALGONA, Iowa – IMCA fans and drivers will stand and applaud hundreds of the men and women who have served their country in the armed forces, during Hunting With Heroes Salute to Veterans race programs next week in Spencer, Algona and Boone. Another one of the people who will deserve a big salute is Toryn Kleen. The 10-year-old and fifth grader-to-be at Algona Middle School raised $3,206 to contribute to the annual veterans’ endeavor, selling lemonade along with cookies and cupcakes at a stand set up near Mike Hauan’s Lake Mills Motorsports Polaris dealership in Algona. “I feel like veterans are under appreciated,” said Toryn, whose grandfathers and a great-grandfather all served in uniform. “This is something I can do for them.” Toryn had donated the more than $2,300 she made selling lemonade and sweet treats from a stand at her home and was recognized with a special Top Gun Fund Raiser award last year. Reutzel rules at Kossuth County

Reutzel held off challenges late from Austin Wolf and Jay Noteboom to earn his first local feature win of the season. Randy Brands dominated the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature, starting on the pole before running away and hiding from the rest of the field in a race that went green white checkered.
