Winemiller Sweeps Central Arizona Raceway Weekend in SportMods

CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (May 16, 2026) — Eric Winemiller put together a perfect weekend in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods at Central Arizona Raceway, sweeping both feature events.

On Friday night, Tyler Delong led the opening two laps before Scott Francoeur took command on lap three. Francoeur appeared poised for victory until Casa Grande’s Winemiller reeled him in during the closing laps. Starting ninth, Winemiller took over the lead on lap 17 and drove away for the win.

Francoeur finished second ahead of Bubba Stafford Jr. James Meile advanced from 10th to fourth while Delong rounded out the top five.

Saturday’s feature saw Winemiller dominate from the outset after starting second. He led from the drop of the green flag and completed the weekend sweep for his fifth victory of the season, with all of those wins coming at Central Arizona Raceway..

Stafford Jr. crossed the line second while Francoeur finished third. Meile and Rex Hasley completed the top five.

Erickson Celebrates Fatherhood While Partain Rallies From Cruise for Stock Car Victory

Clay Erickson captured Friday’s Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature for an emotional victory, his first since becoming a father.

The Phoenix driver started third and quickly worked into the lead before driving away for his second EQ Cylinder Heads Southern Region triumph of the season, with both victories coming at Central Arizona Raceway.

Jake Jurado finished second ahead of Speedy Madrid. Trevor Hidalgo rallied from ninth to fourth while Larry Brigner rounded out the top five.

Saturday’s Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature belonged to Bo Partain after a whirlwind evening.

After landing in Phoenix at 6 p.m. following an Alaska cruise, the Casa Grande racer rushed home, made a quick gear change, and arrived just in time for the feature event.

Starting seventh, Partain charged to the lead by lap five and never looked back, collecting his fourth EQ Cylinder Heads Southern Region victory of the season, with half of those wins coming at Central Arizona Raceway.

Casey Murdoch finished second while Madrid completed the podium in third. Jurado crossed the line fourth ahead of Nolan Morrow in fifth.
