Winemiller Sweeps Central Arizona Raceway Weekend in SportMods

CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (May 16, 2026) — Eric Winemiller put together a perfect weekend in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods at Central Arizona Raceway, sweeping both feature events.

On Friday night, Tyler Delong led the opening two laps before Scott Francoeur took command on lap three. Francoeur appeared poised for victory until Casa Grande’s Winemiller reeled him in during the closing laps. Starting ninth, Winemiller took over the lead on lap 17 and drove away for the win.

Francoeur finished second ahead of Bubba Stafford Jr. James Meile advanced from 10th to fourth while Delong rounded out the top five.

Saturday’s feature saw Winemiller dominate from the outset after starting second. He led from the drop of the green flag and completed the weekend sweep for his fifth victory of the season, with all of those wins coming at Central Arizona Raceway..

Stafford Jr. crossed the line second while Francoeur finished third. Meile and Rex Hasley completed the top five.

Erickson Celebrates Fatherhood While Partain Rallies From Cruise for Stock Car Victory

Clay Erickson captured Friday’s Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature for an emotional victory, his first since becoming a father.

The Phoenix driver started third and quickly worked into the lead before driving away for his second EQ Cylinder Heads Southern Region triumph of the season, with both victories coming at Central Arizona Raceway.

Jake Jurado finished second ahead of Speedy Madrid. Trevor Hidalgo rallied from ninth to fourth while Larry Brigner rounded out the top five.

Saturday’s Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature belonged to Bo Partain after a whirlwind evening.

After landing in Phoenix at 6 p.m. following an Alaska cruise, the Casa Grande racer rushed home, made a quick gear change, and arrived just in time for the feature event.

Starting seventh, Partain charged to the lead by lap five and never looked back, collecting his fourth EQ Cylinder Heads Southern Region victory of the season, with half of those wins coming at Central Arizona Raceway.

Casey Murdoch finished second while Madrid completed the podium in third. Jurado crossed the line fourth ahead of Nolan Morrow in fifth.

Thornton Rallies Late for Fourth Modified Victory at ’26 IMCA TV Winter Nationals

(Jan. 29, 2026) — Belle Plaine, Iowa’s Dylan Thornton added another chapter to his dominant Winter Nationals run with a hard-fought victory in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature during the sixth night of the DeVilbiss Racing Chassis IMCA TV Winter Nationals powered by Pitt Stop Motorsports and Dynamic Drivelines at Central Arizona Raceway. The former Santa Maria, California, resident earned his fourth win of the 2026 event, his fourth victory of the year in the DeVilbiss Racing Chassis Western Region, and his sixth career Winter Nationals Modified triumph. (Feb. 21, 2025) — Central Arizona Raceway delivered another night of high-octane action as Chaz Baca Jr. showcased why he’s the two-time defending Friesen Performance IMCA Modified National Champion. The Mesa phenom captured his fourth win of the season in commanding fashion during the 20-lap feature. Luke Silber set the pace early, leading the field until a lap-two caution reset the competition. Baca seized the opportunity on the restart, expertly working the low line to sweep past Silber coming out of the fourth turn and officially taking the lead on lap 3. Fett Sweeps Stock Cars and Modifieds at Kossuth County

By Greg Grabinoski ALGONA, Iowa (May 14, 2026) — Colby Fett put together a dominant night Thursday at Kossuth County Speedway, sweeping both the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car and Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified features. In the 20-lap Stock Car feature, Fett grabbed the early lead before an early caution on lap two slowed the field. Another yellow on lap eight was the only thing delaying the Algona driver’s trip to victory lane as he collected his first EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region win of the season. Maynard Sweeps Weekend IMCA Modified Action at The Hill and Woodhull

(May 16, 2026) — Wyalusing, Pennsylvania driver Jake Maynard put together a perfect opening weekend, scoring a pair of Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified victories Friday at The Hill Speedway and Saturday at Woodhull Raceway to collect two early season wins in the Close Racing Supply Eastern Region. Friday night at The Hill Speedway, Maynard overcame adversity before the racing even began. Birkhofer Scores First Late Model Win of Season at Davenport

By Mike McGuire DAVENPORT, Iowa (May 15, 2026) — Beautiful weather and fast racecars made for an enjoyable evening Friday at Davenport Speedway. Cruz Birkhofer dominated the Sunoco IMCA Late Models. The Muscatine driver started seventh in the feature and did not see the lead until lap 16. Once out front, Birkhofer drove away from the field to score his first win of the season by more than two seconds. Andy Nezworski charged from 10th to finish second. Early race leader Logan Veloz held on for third while Nathan Balensiefen and Chuck Hanna rounded out the top five. Nezworski and Veloz were Late Model heat winners.
