Krug Edges Zeitner in Park Jefferson Late Model Thriller

JEFFERSON, S.D. (May 15, 2026) — It was another action-packed night of racing at Park Jefferson Speedway, headlined by a thrilling Sunoco IMCA Late Model feature.

In the early stages of the blazing-fast 20-lap A-Main, it was a heavily contested three-car battle between Corey Zeitner, Jordan Krug, and Jody Krug. Jordan Krug, who started fourth, eventually worked his way into the lead while Corey and Zach Zeitner battled feverishly for the runner-up spot.

On the final lap, Zach Zeitner threw a last-corner slide job at Jordan Krug. The pair drag-raced to the checkers, with the Council Bluffs, Iowa driver hanging on by just .038 seconds for his first win of the season. Corey Zeitner finished third while Drew Baker and Mike Collins completed the top five.

Aldape Wins Second Straight Compact Feature

The Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts once again put on a spirited battle throughout their 14-lap feature.

Sioux City, Iowa driver Gilbert Aldape, who started seventh, fought through a crowded lead pack that included Tyler Thompson and several others battling for the top spot. Following a late-race restart, Aldape narrowly held off Levi Volkert at the line by .090 seconds to collect his third Park Jefferson victory of the season and second straight at the track.

Auston Honeycutt, Mike Vogt, and Kiegan Werner rounded out the top five.

Moore Masters Modified Main Event

The Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds delivered another highly competitive 20-lap feature.

Bob Moore led every lap of the contest, but the Sioux City, Iowa driver had to withstand intense pressure from Jimmy Cole and Jason Schneiders following a late restart with three laps remaining.

Moore held strong to earn his first Razor Chassis North Central Region victory of the season. Cole finished second ahead of Schneiders, while Chris Mills and Sean Barragan completed the top five.

Harris Holds Off Tripp in Stock Car Feature

Twenty-one Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars took the green on the high banks of Park Jefferson Speedway.

Homer, Nebraska driver Ryan Harris started fourth and grabbed the lead early before pacing the field the rest of the way. Devin Tripp, who started eighth, closed late but could not mount a winning challenge as Harris secured his first EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season.

Dillon Richards delivered the hard charger run of the race by advancing from 12th to third. Ricky “The Racer” Stephan finished fourth while Travis Barker rounded out the top five.

Malasek Charges from 10th in Hobby Stock Main

The Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks saw Cody Malasek put together another impressive drive.

The Emerson, Nebraska racer started 10th and patiently worked through the field in a shortened feature to collect his third B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region victory of the season, with two of those wins coming at Park Jefferson Speedway.

David Miller charged from 11th to finish second in his first appearance of the season. New points leader Steven Taylor crossed the line third. Austin Jahnz stormed from 18th to fourth while Jordan Uehling advanced from 17th to fifth.

Newsom Charges from 10th in SportMod Action

Jake Newsom put on a strong performance in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMod feature.

The Sioux City, Iowa driver started 10th and worked his way to the front after making a mid-race pass on Willy Kirk for the lead. Newsom earned his second victory of the season and first at Park Jefferson Speedway in 2026.

Cameron Meyer advanced from 12th to second while Rusty Montagne and Nick Minar followed in third and fourth. Matt Morrow completed the top five after charging from the 15th starting spot.
