Montagne Motors to First SportMod Win of Season at Park Jefferson

JEFFERSON, S.D. (May 8, 2026) — It was another great night of racing at Park Jefferson Speedway under a beautiful 75-degree Friday evening. The Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods saw North Sioux City’s “Toehead” Rusty Montagne pick up his first win of the season after starting sixth. Nearly a year to the day since his last victory on May 8, 2025, Montagne made a decisive mid-race move to the outside of early leader Kirk Beatty to take command. He then held off a hard-charging Jake Newsom, who searched every lane on the speedway but came up just short. Newsom finished second, followed by Beatty, Garret Neville, and Noah Williams.

The Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks once again delivered exciting action on the high-banked 1/3-mile. Cody Malasek raced his way to the front past Ben Schneiders after falling back early, but it was Sioux City’s Zach Ankrum who stole the spotlight. Ankrum executed a last-corner slide job to win by .201 seconds, earning his third B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region victory of the season—all at Park Jefferson. Malasek finished second, followed by Steven Taylor, Schneiders, and Justin Frederick.

In the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts, Sioux City’s Gilbert Aldape scored his second win of the season, with both victories coming at Park Jefferson. Points leader Levi Volkert advanced six positions to finish second, followed by Tyler Thompson, Conner Brown, and Auston Honeycutt.

The Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars saw Sioux City veteran Jason Ward charge from sixth to earn his first EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region win of the year. Ryan Harris advanced eight spots to finish second, with Wyatt Luke third, Greg Peck fourth, and Devin Tripp fifth.

Rounding out the night, Sioux Falls’ Duke Erickson put on a strong performance in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds. Starting eighth, Erickson powered through the field to claim his first win of the season in the Razor Chassis North Central Region. Greg Taylor finished second, followed by Chris Abelson, Bob Moore, and Jason Schneiders.

Park Jefferson Iron Cup pays $1,500 to IMCA Modified, Stock Car winners

JEFFERSON, S.D. – IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars both battle it out in $1,500 to win main events at Park Jefferson Speedway’s Monday, July 1 Iron Cup. The sixth annual Iron Cup is presented by J&J Fitting and the Modified feature is a qualifying event for the 2019 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Also on the card are IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods racing for $700 to win, Mach-1 Sport Compacts for $200 to win and the Sprint Series of Nebraska. Pit gates open at 4:30 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. for the third installment of the Arnold Motor Supply Midwest Madness Tour. Hot laps are at 6:15 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m. Grandstand admission is $18 for adults, $15 for seniors, $5 for children ages 6-16 and free for five and under. Pit passes are $30. South Dakota events still on, without grandstand spectators

JEFFERSON, S.D. – Both Saturday’s Open Wheel Nationals at Park Jefferson Speedway and Sunday’s event at The New Raceway Park will still be held as scheduled, but without spectators in grandstands at either facility. No IMCA points of any kind will be given at either event. The Saturday show features IMCA Modifieds and will be broadcast by Speed Shift TV. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Car, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts are on the Sunday card, to be broadcast by Advantage Racing TV. Advance ticket holders for the Open Wheel Nationals will be notified by email about refunds. Information about grandstand refunds for the Sunday event is to be announced.

Hoffman hoists Park Jefferson hardware

JEFFERSON, S.D. (June 2) – Park Jefferson Speedway hosted the IMCA Racing Series featuring the Road to the Iron Cup for Z98 IMCA Hobby Stocks on Saturday and when it was all done, it was the familiar 8X of Andy Hoffman standing in the winner’s circle $375 richer. On a bone dry track, Hoffman came from the third row to roar by front row starters Kevin Bruck and Paul Menard. Rusty Montague was second with Kevin Bruck finishing third. Chris Abelson finally broke Jay Noteboom’s ownership on victory lane as he came from row three along to take the Artworks Graphics IMCA Modified checkers. IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car action saw Casey Abbas return to the track and ultimately victory lane. Abbas used his home-built engine to put the 17V in the winner’s circle. Wayman Goes from 16th to Win SportMod Feature at Eagle

(May 9, 2026) — The most electrifying run of the night at Eagle Raceway came in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods, where Cole Wayman stormed from 16th to score a dramatic victory. After an early multi-car incident shuffled the field, the Lincoln driver methodically worked his way forward, cracking the top five before charging into second with seven laps remaining. He completed the pass for the lead with four to go and never looked back. Gary Saathoff held on for second, while Mary Hahn finished third. Jacob Swanson advanced from 10th to fourth, and Matt Andrews completed the top five. Wayman, the defending track champion, picked up his fourth win of the season and second at Eagle Raceway in 2026. Logan Storms from Ninth to Go Back-to-Back at Skagit

(May 9, 2026) — Cole Logan put on a show in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds, charging from ninth to score a second straight victory at Skagit Speedway and in the DeVilbiss Racing Chassis Western Region. The Burlington driver worked his way into contention and sat third as the laps wound down before making his decisive move on lap 19. Carrying momentum around the extreme high side, Logan swept past Adam Holtrop and Rick Smith in the same corner to take command. Once out front, Logan pulled away to secure the win, adding another statement performance to his early-season résumé. Smith held on for second, while Tyson Blood capitalized late to claim third. Holtrop finished fourth, and Rory Smith, representing British Columbia, rounded out the top five. Hubbard Hustles to Fast Friday Victory at Dixieland with Virginia Sprint Series

(May 8, 2026) — Billy Hubbard put together a perfect night with the RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Cars of the Virginia Sprint Series, sweeping both his heat race and the feature on Fast Friday at Dixieland Speedway. Hubbard, from Cobbs Creek, set the tone early by winning his heat, while Matthew Leach also scored a preliminary victory. When the feature went green, Hubbard and Jerald Harris led the field to the stripe, with Hubbard immediately seizing control. Harris settled into second, with Leach holding third in the early stages. The race went caution-free, allowing Hubbard to showcase his speed out front as he steadily stretched his advantage over the field.
