ALGER, Wash. (Apr. 25, 2026) — Tumwater’s Tyson Blood showed why he’s a five-time Washington State champion, racing from 10th to win the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified main event on opening night at Skagit Speedway.
Blood found his groove on the high side, running a line all his own while chaos unfolded on the bottom. He powered into the lead at the halfway mark of the 25-lap feature and went unchallenged the rest of the way to score the victory. It was his first win of the season in the DeVilbiss Racing Chassis Western Region. The race also served as a Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational qualifier, putting Blood on the eligibility list to attempt to qualify for the event to be run at the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s in September.
Rory Smith finished second, with Cole Logan taking third. Kyler Moore and Rick Smith completed the top five in fourth and fifth.
Heat race wins went to Blood and Moore.
